Our family tradition is to get cones at Gibson Girl and sit on Main Street, taking in the sights.
One that was not on your list is the Golden Horseshoe. We like to get sundaes there from time to time.
Never had the kitchen sink or mickeys pants at Clarabells but we've gotten cones there and like that too!

Ghirardelli sundaes are amazing. Especially if they have hot fudge. Ive had the brownie sunday & its the best sundae I've ever had!! A must have!! The brownie is hot & fresh & just melts in your mouth.

thanks I didn't even know there were sundaes at golden horseshoe

We get the sundaes at Golden Horseshoe, too.

But, my favorite is the Ghiradelli hot fudge sundae. It's so good.

Thats why these boards are so great! We find out things we didn't know exisited! Im not sure what kind of entertainment they have going on there now, but we used to enjoy watching the show and having our ice cream :-)

Well Dole Whips and Mickey Bars are a must do each trip (er um each day on a trip *cough*) on a side note I wish they did different flavoured Mickey Bars.
We really enjoyed the kitchen sinks at Clarebelles but they were not the mini beaches and cream kitchen sinks we were hoping for.
We also really enjoyed the root beer floats at the cozy cone and the golden horseshoe.

I know it isn't in the parks, but my favorite ice cream is Hagen Daaz in DTD.

Ghiradelli at least once a day! Sundaes but also the milkshakes are wonderful. We also like Haagen Dazs on the way back to the room at the end of the day. I'm hoping all this ice cream will revive us during upcoming heatapocalypse this next weekend!

Ghiradelli is simply AMAZING. I think everything in there is wonderful. I've had several things and they have all be great. But it's pretty rich so we usually share.

Most recently we had a chocolate milkshake, which is simple I guess compared to some of the other items on the menu but I think it might be my new favorite.

I thought that Ghirardelli serves Dreyer's. It's not a super premium (the heavy kind with less air like Hagen Daz) ice cream by any stretch, and I'm not sure who would really want one for a sundae.

For years, Disneyland had a huge relationship with Carnation Brands.

They do. Dreyers isn't premium by any definition at all. Except maybe by price or compared to even less premium brands.

We go to HDazs instead.

Eta: all the other scooped ice cream is dreyers as well. No difference in the scooped ice cream in the park, just in what they put on it. That's where G's is better. Alas they won't just sell us a cup of hot fudge sauce to go put on our HD ice cream.

Yes, they use dreyers for scooped ice cream and definitely NOT premium or any way near to it!! Actually it is a shadow of its former self....bought out by Nestle several years ago and quality has gone way down.

Its so funny because when DH and I get ice cream at Disneyland we find ourselves, and the kids, saying how great it is. We always comment on how its the same junk we have in our freezer but tastes so much better. Im convinced it is the Disney magic. Whats Mickey Mouse putting in that ice cream?!?!

We stopped at Clarabelle's for ice cream and loved it. I tried Mickey's Kitchen Sink and it was fabulous.

In DL, we stopped at a cart for a frozen treat and I was sure my boys would get the Mickey Ears Ice Cream. One opted for a strawberry juice bar and the other for frozen strawberry lemonade. The lemonade was good but I have no idea about the fruit bar as my youngest wouldn't share.

I wish they had Tillamook ice cream in the parks. That's my favorite brand.

I totally agree! A Mickey bar is just cheap chocolate and ice cream, but for some reason, it tastes fantastic at Disney! Same with churros. I don't think the Disneyland churros are actually any better than say the ones you can buy at Costco, but something about where you are eating it makes it better.

I have noticed the same phenomenon when camping. Maybe food tastes better when consumed outdoors? Or just in a gorgeous setting?

My vote goes to Ghirardelli and Mickey bars, BTW. Sorry to go off topic for a bit!

We get the sundaes at Golden Horseshoe, too.

But, my favorite is the Ghiradelli hot fudge sundae. It's so good.

A sundae at the Golden Horeshoe is a nice treat during a show but I agree that nothing beats Ghiradelli. During our trip to California in August I had 2 or 3 in San Francisco and another at DCA. Also had a couple of their double scoop cones.

I don't see any of the ice cream in the parks as being that great. I like Ghirardelli's anyway because their sundaes are fun and the toppings are good, but I had a pretty blah yet expensive sundae at Gibson Girl and haven't been back. We (whole family) had hot fudge sundaes and not one of us even wanted to finish. They were exceptionally skimpy on the toppings. Maybe it was just that one night, but I would much rather get ice cream at Haagen Dazs (sorry for initial misspelling in my first post) or just get a Mickey bar than try that place again.

Clarabelle's in DCA is a must do for us. We must have a waffle cone. We like it there because they have a nice big air conditioned place to eat (F,F& P cafe).
We looked all over WDW and could not find a waffle cone. We ended up with a waffle bowl sundae. Good, but we just love our waffle cones!
