Can't decide how many nights

I have taken both of my sons on "Mom and Me" trips (more than once!) and this January it is my DDs turn. We are AP holders and we go 2-3 times a year but not always as a whole family.

I've decided this trip that she and I are going to sail on the Dream for three nights and then hit the parks. She is very, very small for her age and it tends to effect her stamina so we won't tour quite as much as I would with DH or the boys. That is part of the reason for the cruise...

So we will get to our resort pretty early after the cruise and we will have a lot of that day. I can't decide if I want to stay four nights or five. I want a LOT of MK time because that will be the big priority, but we will spend a half day at AK and some time at Epcot. It probably won't be good swimming weather so we won't need a lot of time for that. I've been in January twice and December once and have never hit the pool.
Crowds will be very low during our trip.

Hmmm....How many nights?

I'd go for 5 (that's me being selfish..I want as much time as I can get..lol) but it might be easier for the little one. Whatever you decide, have a great time....the cruise is a great way to start also !!!

Well, 2 days at MK, 1/2 at AK, 1 day at Epcot - you are at 4 days. You need at least 4 nights, so what about your travel time? If you can swing 5 days - go for it. You didn't mention the age of your daughter but some years ago I took both my kids and the younger one had a huge melt down. I'd give some consideration to having a kids club night, so that she has time on her own. Of course each kid is different. Have fun planning.

DD will be almost 7 when we go. My favorite age for Disney! I think I'm leaning toward five nights, but still not sure. We can do Epcot later in the day on arrival (from port w/private car we would be at the resort by 10:30). Thinking dinner at Akershus and a little touring, maybe Illuminations if we're up for it.
The next day I would do AK in the morning and MK in the evening, maybe with a 1900 PF dinner. The next two days (if we only stayed four nights) would be almost all MK with maybe a sprinkle of Epcot if we wanted. Four seems like enough, given the cool weather and low crowds, but as any WDW lover, five always sounds better!
That is a pretty long trip though when you add in the three night cruise...

in one word..........

5

But thats just me.....I always extend by 1 or 2 more days..

You know you child best. Does she do well on a long vacation? When my kids were younger, they didn't do so well being away from home (i.e got cranky) so I did't really plan vacations longer than a week. When we went to Disney we went for 5 nights and that was enough for them, however I was the one that wanted to stay longer rotfl2:. I did make sure to plan plenty of room breaks, and we stayed at the Poly so having the monorail was heaven!!! With the cruise - you may find that 4 nights is enough time. Not trying to talk you out of the extra night, but if you think your daughter travels well and is ok with a longer trip - then go for it.

5 nights - would suggest renting a DVC reservation at BLT if you can.

you can walk to the MK from BLT - it is faster than the monorail - plus you have the monorail for Epcot. Definitely take the monorail back from MK to CR a couple of times. It is the first stop coming back from the MK - while going to the MK it is still the first stop - but then it stops at TTC, Polyn, GF then MK.

would do AK and EPcot on one day - at her age might also consider Studios. but definitely understand you can't see everything every time.... my rule is no more than 2 parks in one trip.

don't go for the MK view at BLT until they change it - you might just get a view of the parking lot.

standard view for budget
lake view for view
