Can't decide...CBR or CSR??

I know that everyone has strong opinions about each of these resorts. I have been trying to read through all posts, but I still cannot make up my mind where we should stay....I like both for different reasons...

We have two children DS (4) and DD (3). Do you think the CBR would be better because of the pool, or CSR because of the slide?

How about the beaches?

Sizes of rooms, etc...

Thanks in advance!

Oh no. The ultimate debate.

We choose CBR.
Reasons:
It has two slides and it also has a nice kiddie slide area and several playgrounds.

The rooms are the largest of the mods (but only have double beds, what's up with that?) and with needing a PnP I liked that idea.

Double sinks (CSR might have this, I have no idea)

Hammocks on the beach

Liked the theme more than CSR - CSR's theme seems a bit more "grown up" to me.

CSR folks will definitely say:
queen beds

dig site pool looks like serious fun

theming seems amazing at night (buzz's pictures kill me!)

CSR is my family favorite! I don’t know if it will work for you but pick which resort theme you like best and which resort amenities meet your family's needs. Also, check out my CSR website below for updated info and pics.

Here is just some quick info on CSR.

CSR has newly renovated rooms (about half done as of 3/2009) and queen beds (only mod to offer them).

A terrific main pool area that includes a 123 ft slide (2nd largest at WDW), kiddie pool, arcade, playground, sand volleyball court, hot tub (largest on WDW property), a bar, and snack bar (very good food for CS).

Reliable transportation that is not shared with other resorts, 4 resort stops and quick rides to all the parks. CSR has the closest bus stops to the park entrances too (first stop at DHS and MK)!

Other amenities you may be looking for in a resort.
Only moderate to offer suites.

A spa, salon, tanning beds, a lap pool and fitness center (free to its guests).

Full menu room service, expensive though.

Central air, flat panel TV’s and WiFi available.

Rix Lounge – a dance club voted most trendy bar in Orlando.

A business center with computer access.

I know it is the ultimate debate. I was actually a little scared to post this, but I really am having a hard time making up my mind. Yes, the night pics of CSR are AMAZING!!!

We just got back from CBR and loved it. Went with our 3 kids ages 5, 6 and 1. The kids loved the pool area, they absolutely loved the water slides. Didn't use the pirate play area much as it was chilly out but that looked like a lot of fun especially for the ages of your kids. We had great bus service and the longest ride to the parks was MK which took about 12 minutes. I've eaten at CSR but never stayed there. It looks beautiful but I just personally like the theming of CBR better.

We are going in August and chose CBR. I have kids ages 4 and 6. I personally liked the theme better at CBR (at least going by the pictures). I think my kids would enjoy the tropical theme more, too.

CSR also has facilities for conventions, so you may see business types there in addition to families. Maybe no big deal, but something to think about.

The queen beds at CSR almost sold me...that would be a nice feature at all the mods!

Good luck with your decision.

We just got back from CBR and it is still our favorite! And yes, we have stayed a both CBR and CSR, as well as POFQ.

With a 3 & 4 year old I would definitely go with CBR!! :thumbsup2

DH and I enjoy the lush tropical feel to CBR as well as the beautiful spacious grounds and the friendly CM's, not to mention the larger rooms and the double sinks in the bathroom. The kids love the sandy beaches, the playgrounds, and that new pool can not be beat! pirate: The main pool now offers zero entry and 2 awesome slides and the new children's pool has 3 slides, water squirting out everywhere, and a tipping bucket!

The CSR is the only moderate we choose to stay at...and have done so seven times. We love it there and our kids loved it there when they traveled with us. With the new queen beds, we think it is perfect now. The Dig Site pool is great, as is the slide and I think your kids would love it. There is also a kiddie pool right next to the main pool, plagryound, sandbox area and the arcade. Also, the largest hot tub of all the moderates for the grownups to use.

CSR!! We love CSR for the atmosphere, great CM's and the deluxe-lite feel. CSR also has a great playground that is located at the main pool area so you don't have to leave to use it. CSR also has a large sandy beach area and the terrific transportation. Plus CSR offers queen beds too!

We are choosing CBR because of the new pool, the tropical theme, the beaches, hammocks, marina, double sinks in the room, internal bus, 7 bus stops, and CBR does not share a bus with another resort.

We looked at CSR, but it looked too "adult and stuffy" for our vacation. Don't get me wrong, it's beautiful, it's just not what we are looking for.

With kids, I would definitely recommend CBR. Not only will they appreciate the rooms more (fun nemo and pirate themes), but I'm sure they will also enjoy the newly renovated pool. In a way, I feel like the food court at CBR is more suitable for children too because it is more accessible... At CSR, you have to order your food, get some card stamped, and then you kind of get "waited" on (you don't have a full-on waiter, but you do have to leave a tip). Eating at CSR is also more expensive if you're not on the dining plan. At the CBR food court, you order what you want, and you go pay for it.. simple as that... no tips, no stamps, none of that. And while the CSR rooms have queen beds, the CBR rooms are actually larger in size. Good luck making your decision!

we stayed at CBR last fall and while it was nice, it just wasn't that exciting for us. all the things unique and special about CBR are more kid-oriented--the swimming pool, the pirate themed rooms, etc. haven't stayed at CSR though, but CBR would not be my top choice among the moderates. (that said, it's still nice)

Well I'm usually a deluxe hotel snob but I loved CBR! We stayed there in October, and the new rooms and pool were awesome! We did book a preferred room to cut down on walking time to the foodcourt and main pool. I think your kids will love the pool area and the theme of the rooms. I had the same debate a couple months before my trip but was happy with my decision of CBR and so was my family.
