I had my mind all decided on CBR preferred room then I looked at photos of POFQ and it looks so beautiful ! I really dont like the mardi gra icons but I like everything else about it. I do this every time I go to Disney waaaaaaaaa :headache: ! We will be going in the middle of October with 2 adults and a 10 year old and still have time to decide but I like to plan way ahead of time. Which to choose :confused3 ? I like the size and grounds of POFQ but I like the pool and beaches at CBR. Anyone have any input ?

Have you been to either one? If so, I would pick the resort you haven't stayed at yet (just to try a new place).

I think the 10-year-old would like the pool at CBR more than the pool at POFQ. I personally think the POFQ pool is a little disappointing.

Overall, I like POFQ more than CBR, though. I'm not a fan of the CBR room decor, and POFQ was just renovated. The POFQ resort is smaller and you have the boat to Downtown Disney.

Sorry, not much help!

Everyone's tastes are different, but this is an easy choice for me. Don't care fore the look of POFQ at all. Preferred room at CBR takes care of the size argument. Pool is way better at CBR. Bus service is way better at CBR. Boat to DTD at POFQ has long waits and is very slow. Stay with your original pick! :thumbsup2

I would have to say POFQ without a doubt.

We stayed a t CBR one time had a really bad experience. We requested connecting rooms one room was accessible and they gave us rooms that were in two separate buildings. The staff at the front desk was rude and not very helpful. The resort is spread out. Depending on what section you stay in you may need to take the resort bus just to get to the food court and pool.

We have stayed at POFQ two times and will be there again in December. It is quiet. Smaller. The pool is very nice. You can just zip to the food court building. The buses were never an issue for us. POFQ was always picked up before POR and often has it's own buses.

The rooms were also refurbished two years ago and are very nice.

For a 10 year old, the pool at CBR is better than the pool at POFQ. However, POFQ guests can use the POR pool anytime that they want. I like the idea of having the amenities of both resorts at my fingertips.

I agree with a PP. If you have stayed at either resort, then I would try something new--the one you haven't stayed in yet.

How long is your visit? Can you do a split stay? If not, then my instinct says POFQ. I do think either one would make for a great trip, though.

If you actually read the OP post you will see they are booked into a preferred room. So why post about the size of the resort or room location?

Some of the preferred rooms at CBR are actually farther from the Food Court building then the non preferred rooms at POFQ.

I struggled with that exact decision last year. We ended up choosing CBR. I wished we had chosen POFQ. CBR wasn't horrible, but it was huge. We found the food court to be quite limited. We didn't like the whole internal bus system. That being said, CBR is pretty. We had some great customer service from the CM's. Great housekeeping! (amazing towel animal displays every day!!!). Overall though, the resort just wasn't our cup of tea and we won't be rushing back to CBR anytime soon. POFQ is in the running for next years trip though!!! :thumbsup2

If you have not stayed at one or the other, I'd choose the one you have yet to visit. They are both great resorts and I am a big fan of trying a new resort. :)

My family has enjoyed both resorts. I love that FQ is small but was not a fan of the food court. My kids LOVED the pool at CBR. It is their favorite of all the mods. If you will spend much time at all at the pool, I'd choose CBR over FQ.

We enjoyed CBR but we like to try different resorts. We actually could have saved some money on our upcoming trip by booking CBR but we really need the queen sized beds for our family so we booked POFQ. Plus I like that we can use the pools at Riverside if we choose to.

We're currently having the same debate at our house. Last Christmas we stayed at POFQ (DH, DD13, DS8, & myself). The pool wasn't that impressive, but the grounds were beautiful. We're not big Mardi Gras fans, but the size and relaxed atmosphere of the resort made that easy to overlook. We loved the bus service, especially the fact that there weren't multiple stops within the resort before heading to the parks.

Fast forward to two weeks ago, when we stayed at CBR. Beautiful resort, again, and the kids loved the pirate room (especially DS) and the pool. We're booked there for part of our Christmas trip this year, but DH and I are leaning towards POFQ due to room size and bus transportation. The kids are lobbying to stick with CBR. Oh, to have these problems. :lmao: CBR just feels like a summer resort to me, so we're hoping to sway the kids over to POFQ with the promise of a few days in June.

I'd base my decision on how much time you're likely to spend at the resort...pool, food court, etc. If you're planning on lots of down time, I'd vote for CBR since you have the preferred room.

No we havent been to either one. We have stayed at POR and CSR and wanted to try one of the other moderates. Sooo I dont know which one, if we were staying a long time I would do a split stay be we will only be there a week.

I'm not sure I understand this comment, we are not booked yet, just planning.

You said you were looking at a preferred room which eliminates the fact that CBR is more spread out than POFQ. It seemed pointless for someone to say you should stay at POFQ because CBR is spread out...lol

I didnt say I wanted to stay at POFQ because CBR is spread out , I said I couldnt decide between the 2. Since I would book a preferred room if we went to CBR, it being spread out wouldnt make it a problem.

I was referring to the other poster, wasn't talking to you. I gve you my advice in my first post in this thread.:)

I have stayed at both. I'll start by saying we really enjoy the moderates. We have stayed at all levels of WDW resorts and the mods just fit our needs very well. Our favorite mods are POR, CBR and CSR. We sort of like the spread out feel and fine that while they are large, the walking isn't a big deal and the fact that the multiple bus stops mean that when we head from our room to the park, we won't be treking far to a bus stop. Having lots of grounds means that no matter how many guests, it never feels crowded. We were there recently (got home a week ago) for 11 nights and obviously it was spring break and packed, but the resort never felt like that. We loved the beaches, hammocks, pools, grounds all of it! Conversely, we stayed at POFQ during Chirstmas week several years ago and the main pool was always packed, and it just didn't feel quite as relaxing.

All that said, POFQ is very pretty! But what kept us from staying there again was the pool. My kids are teens now, but when we stayed there they were 9 and 11 and the serpent slide was a big disappointment. We missed quiet pools. Now you can go over and use the pools at POR but that didn't feel that convenient.

But I loved the food court, the theming, grounds, rooms and I don't rule out we'll stay there again, but not sure when we will because that pool isn't a hit with us and the other three mods have more pools and grounds to spread out in. Our quiet pool in Jamaica was so nice, several times we had it to ourselves. Even the preferred buildings at CBR have quiet pools and sometimes they are a great escape. And the slides, pirate area, and zero entry are great for kids. I also like it that CBR has two hot tubs. POFQ's hot tub is a bit separated from the main pool. Just little things that for us added up to some reasons that while we enjoyed POFQ, we haven't returned.

They are both great resorts, for my family CBR would win hands down, but POFQ is also very nice.

I prefer POFQ. I love the quaintness of this resort as well as the beignets and the boat to DTD. You can walk to POR and can use those pools too. The main pool at CBR is probAbly better, but to me the pros of FQ outweigh that.
