Can anyone explain to me why I can't book a stay for either of the Port Orleans resorts for only three nights, but if I change the dates to add two more nights (including the original three), there are plenty of options at these resorts?

I had booked a split stay at POFQ and BC, and am wanting to add more nights to our stay at BC and stay less nights at POFQ, but the resorts aren't showing availability for the shorter stay.

That happened to us a few years ago. We could only book 6 days at the BWI. I would call - when I called I was able to shorten the stay at the BWI.

Disney changed the way they let you book rooms a few years ago. They no longer let you just drop or add nights. The new length of stay has to be available before you can change things. They are trying to control their room inventory & avoid lone nights that they can't sell is my understanding. But there have been reports that guest services has been able to help. I'd give them a call & see if a CM can do it for you. They might, especially because you want to spend more money. Good luck!

Call. I recently wanted to book 3 nights at the Pop Century. There was nothing available, but when I changed it to a 4 or 5 night stay, there was availability. I called and the CM was able to get guest services to book the 3 night stay.

They try to prevent 'orphan' dates (like 1 night stranded that they computer thinks won't get booked based on past patterns? something like that), via minimum stays. (Call - could work out.)

Yes- book the longer stay and then call to reduce. You can always cancel the booking altogether if unsuccessful but I think it will work out.:)

Yes the advice above is correct. It's funny because MLB tickets are the same. They only allow certain numbers as to not have orphan seats also. It's frustrating
