New details are available about the upcoming refurbishment of the “O Canada” 360 degree film in Epcot. The film will feature Martin Short as the on-screen narrator with Eva Avila (Canadian Idol season 4 winner) singing the theme song. At least 50% of the footage has been reshot to bring the film into the 21st century.

So, from your prespective, what should stay, what should go, and what should be added?

I am excited that they are changing it.
One thing I noticed with the film last year, is that it is mostly all about the east. I hope they put more of the west in there. There is more to the West than just the Calgary Stampede!
How about West Edmonton Mall, the biggest mall in the world?

I would like to see them go from Coast to coast, talking about each province individually for 3 minutes or so each.

Eva Avila, really? In 10 years, even now, won't people be saying who's she? Do we not have a Canadian that is well known and respected around the world? Anywhoo, at least it is being updated. Hopefully it will show Canada well.

Dang it all and here I thought Calgary was the centre of the universe ....hold it... no I am wrong..... Ontario is the capital of Canada....no..... North America... and centre of the universe at least most people from GTA think that! (before anyone gets their underwear in a knot...just joking) I am glad to see they are updating it as the Calgary Stampede is a world class event and it's representation is seriously outdated.

I dont know, but according to Allears, Oh Canada is down for rehab Aug 20-24.
So maybe after the 24th, the new one will be on.
Hopefully, then we can see it when we are there!

My family and I are arriving home from WDW on Aug 19th, so we will just miss the re-opening of it by a few days. Oh well at least we will be able to see it when we are back there again this December.

I'm hoping that the rehab is as short as they're predicting ... we're there from Aug 22nd to Sept 1st so hopefully we'll get to see it.

Hey, Winnipeg is the actual centre of North America (true). Now, if we can only convince the rest of the world!

I am REALLY glad they are updating it. I saw the show once and won't go again because I felt it to be an embarassment. I think Eva is a good one to sing as she represents a cross culture of languages which is so much who we are (and she has a beautiful singing voice as well). I really hope they include some of the beautiful lakes in Manitoba/Ontario which are gorgeous in the summer. JUST NO DOG SLEDS AND IGLOOS! People seem to believe so much that is what we are about!

Definitely no sled dogs or igloos. We've been asked sooooo many times how do we put up with the cold and isnt it hard to get used to the dogs. We just laughed and said the igloo tends to shrink in square footage in the summertime but we just put on an addition in November.

Whenever we get someone who asks us that question, we always say it's not much colder in Canada then in some cities like Chicago, Denver, Alaska and etc.

I personally would like to see them replace the movie with a 'Hinterland Who's Who'. Specifically....the Arctic Hare.

They should put something Candian in there, we need a log ride or a river raft ride. WE NEED A RIDE! If Norway has a ride and Even Mexico. Why not Canada?

Make a ride that is outdoorsey.

How about a raft ride that is calm and moves slow and then a beaver dam gives way and it takes you on a crazy fast ride as we go past fishermen and loggers and mine workers and then at the end we plunge over niagra falls.
