Well today we called our guide and agreed to buy 250 points at SSR!

So excited - never thought we'd do anything like this.

So now I can start planning and hopefully everything will fall into place!

I have 2 questions for all you experts if thats ok?

1 - Can someone tell me in your experience what happens now and realistic time frames? (we are in the UK)

2 - We are going back to Disney next May and are planning to do 8 nights SSR then a 3 night wonder cruise then 5 nights hopefully at BWV but def at another property if poss.

Does this sound ok? The cruise is a lot of points but we will have them to use so thought why not. The SSR will be a studio and BWV a 1 br - if possible.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated - thanks in advance

Christie

Congrats and welcome home!

:cool1:

Sounds like you have a good plan for your points. The cruise is a blast - my kids keep asking when we are going again.

What part of the UK are you in?

WELCOME HOME!

Since you just agreed to buy SSR, I am assuming you haven't closed yet. You should make your reservations for SSR as soon as you reach the 11-month mark (based on your last day stay). If you haven't closed by then, call your guide and they can help you with getting your membership ID# and also getting your reservation made. We actually made our first reservation during the same phone call as we bought. Your BWV stay needs to be booked (and may be more difficult to book) at the 7-month window. For this reservation I would recommend calling day-to-day but you may still end up at another resort.

Welcome Home, Christie ... and welcome to the SSR family!

Word of advice, get your contract broken up into smaller contracts - one at 160 (or whatever they require for an initial contract), then break up the other points into smaller contracts 50 points or less.

Then, at a later date, if you decide to sell, the smaller contracts will sell faster than a large contract of 250 points. Or you could just keep one contract and sell the others.

Hi there, what I recommend is rent your SSR points you are not going to use at a resort and use the money to pay for your disney cruise. From what I have read around here, the cruise points are WAY OVERPRICED!!!

Deb & Bill have a very good suggestion about your contract sizes! There is no disadvantage to doing this - and your guide will happily oblige.

My last 2 contract were done as 115 + 115, so that if ever they need to be put up for resale, they will sell faster and for a higher price/point than larger contracts do.

Well my guide eventually called back last night and took the deposit and due to your great advice I asked him to split the contract up for me and he is going to look into it as it's being done partly through finance so he wasn't sure how to do it.

Anyway thanks for the great advice!
