Can't believe the people who win "best" awards

I was doing a quest this evening with a "rare" prize. While in the middle of the quest, I got booted. So I go back to see what the problem was. Owner says I had a hat on. He said he told me to take it off. I asked how people were supposed to see him while they are working on a quest? I then got yelled at by owner saying "Take your hat off or you and your bird are flying out of here!" This is a winner of Best Quest!! Staff you sure made a big mistake in that one. What a rude person. Not much of a "Prince".

You would think VMK wouldn't award this to a player that rude! And here
we are (FlyingPegasus, ppiglett, SweetAsADaisy, and me) who put out fun,
imaginative quests and are NICE to our visitors...and get overlooked.

I know there are more people that have put out quests and are nice, but I'm
just giving examples of quests I've played (or hosted) within the past few
weeks.

I wonder if that player treated people nicely BEFORE winning, and winning
made him into a nasty, arrogant jerk.

Well, it was worse when the Staff just picked out their favorite players and constantly gave them the awards.

And here we are (FlyingPegasus, ppiglett, SweetAsADaisy, and me) who put out fun, imaginative quests and are NICE to our visitors...and get overlooked.

And that's the worst part about this whole thing. Sorry about your experience JulyGirl.

Briar, I am with you. I have played quests by all of those players. I have even nominated some of those players and I've yet to see them honored. For me, a friendly quest owner is key to a good quest.

I'd like to add myself to the honored people who got booted.

And I hope he still reads the DIS, because I remember he used to be a part of it. And he's just as rude as I remembered. When a player wanted me to do inferno and take a picture, I said, "Sure." And did inferno.

So the room owner said to me, "If you want to do circus tricks, go to the Esplanade." What a gem of a guy! He accused me of turning off his camp
fire, which I didn't do. I think it's rude to turn on and off items without the
owner's permission, and I told him as much in not so many words.

I was actually seeing how long he would have me in without booting me. I also tried his quest and failed. I didn't remember certain aspects of Pocahontas, as I don't think I saw it in about 10 years! Of course he had to gloat that I didn't know as much as him. I'm sure I could make an impossible quest he wouldn't be able to finish, either.

Here's the kicker:

I didn't get to try the quest when I was in the room, as the timer ended.
I had a strong suspicion he used a mule to finish the quest so he wouldn't
have to give out his prizes. The prizes were a green explorer outfit, a Snow
White pin, and a Cinderella pin.

I reported him and the suspected mule so that VMK could check him and the
"winner" out. I certainly hope my suspicions prove correct and he'll get
banned for running a quest scam.

Yes, I remember him from before. He was a real sweetheart of a guy back
then, too. I noticed his room is no longer open.

omg! that stinks! i have been trying forever to win those awards! my advise is to have a positive attitude while in your room and not expect to win. no offense, but i hate it when ppl who have already won win again after that! sometimes it's not fair. i just have to keep working though! you too! gl!

I, too, have run many a creative quests that have never been recognized. Eventually you decie to do them just for the enjoyment of adding to other players' fun and not in hopes of a vmk nod - which I have never received.

Hopefully, the quests that win are exceptional more often than not.

I was reading this, and if it is indeed the boy that had oh so many rantings about the Sparrow game back in the day (thinking back on his argument on the topic, it still makes me laugh ), yup, not surprised!

Earlier this year I ran into him and he felt the need to make fun of how my character looked, saying I was ugly and out of style and all that jazz. In VMK I was silent, but in real life I was rolling my eyes and snickering at my monitor. Kid, you're dealing with adults in this game too, you know. I don't really give a hoot if you think my clothes (that aren't real) worn by my character (who is also not real) look good or not. Really did not appreciate him going around and harassing some others though; made one player who was clearly a child very upset.

That's very sad to hear that he's still up to his old tricks and apparently getting rewarded by VMK to boot. There should be no place for people who act as he does in this game.
