I've become such a planner anymore - that I'm embarrassed to ask - but

I've decided to take my son to Tampa Skatepark next year over President's Day for a 16th birthday surprise. So, I've been starting to look at airfare - want to leave Thursday night (2/16/06) and come back Monday afternoon (2/20/06.) The only airlines basically right now from Philly are USAir and United. Neither of which I want to fly EVER AGAIN (long story involving Christmas 2004.)

Can anyone "guesstimate" for me when the Southwest and/or Airtran fares will come out? I've checked Spirit out of AC and not only are the times not good for this trip - the fare is about $1,400.00 for the 2 of us!!!

Thinking maybe I should make the ressies in June? What do the experts think?

Thanks for your help

LET US KNOW HOW YOU MAKE OUT

We flew to MCO in Orlando on USAirways from Philly for a fare of $156 each this past February (2/1-2/8). I know that SW matched that fare. The two are usually neck-in-neck in the Philly region with their fares. Anything under $200.00 is a good fare, IMHO, but we've usually paid in the region of $150-175 (sometimes a bit lower) each for our fares in the recent past. I would keep checking! :)

Thanks for your help!!

PURTYPAT1 - thank you for checking, but I don't think driving to NY will be in my future.

beccasmom - I' think I'll wait for a bit & make a ressie when either AirTran or SW makes their flights available - not to mention staying tuned to the boards to see what everyone else is doing!!!

Thanks again for taking the time to answer.
