Can't believe I'm confused...When to make ADR's?

I have made many trips to WDW and am a DIS veteran. However, I read something tonight that stopped my heart...I thought it was 180 days for ADR's...I have it on my calendar when to call for Cinderella's. Now, I read something about 180+10 days. What does that mean? Am I too late for Cinderella's?

We want to go to Cindy's on either Oct. 7 or Oct. 9. I thought my dates to call were 4/10 and 4/12. Oct. 9 is our preference...Oct. 7 is just in case.

Now, I find out that I may already be too late...We check in to WL for 3 nights on 10/2 and BCV on 10/5. I called and they said I could call tomorrow and see if there was still availability...Does that mean it might be taken? I'm confused! When does my window start?

I don't know what the official rule is, but I booked CRT last week for Set. 4. I think I was about 150 days out and had no trouble getting exactly what I wanted. Last year I book I booked the ADR even later and still, no trouble. Good luck!

Hi Disteach1,

Here is a calculator link I found in an allearsnet.com search.

It is 180 days from your dining date so you can call on April 10 according to that site. To be sure, I would call Disney Dining to make sure that is the right date.

Good Luck :wizard: obtaining a reservation for CRT, especially if you want breakfast. It is a tough one to get!

I am looking into the +10 and will get back to you.

Edited to add: see +10 info in my next post! You really want 180 days from your check-in date.

I think if you have a room reservation you can book at 180 + 10. At least I have read that somewhere on the boards. I don't have experience with that, though, so I can't verify the truth of it.

HTH

That is what I'm understanding...it maybe +10 from your checkin date. For me, that would be tomorrow.

Hi Disteach1,

I am looking into the +10 and will get back to you.

If you will be staying at a WDW resort and have already booked your room/package reservation, 180 days before your check-in date you would be eligible start booking your dining for up to 10 of your vacation reservation days.

I don't know how your split stay will effect this, though. Where you have a split stay they may let you do the 180+10 from 10/2 which would be 4/5 (Tomorow!!):scared1: .

But, where that stay for the 10/2 room reservation technically ends on 10/5 the system may not be able to make a reservation for a day that falls after your check-out day. You may be required to call back 180 days+10 from your 10/5/08 (your second check-in) which is 4/8.

Either way don't wait for 4/10!

Definitely worth a try in the morning!!

Question- since I am new to multiple ADRs... can I make all my ADRs for my stay on the 180 day mark? (Or 180+10, if anyone can confirm that...) Or do I have to keep calling every day for a new t/s ressie? I'll be staying on-site 11/6-11/9. Will have a split stay starting again on 11/13-11/17 so I know I'll have to repeat the process for our post-DCL stay.:cool1:

Yes, I will try calling tomorrow...Getting up at 4 a.m. on a Saturday...fun!

For the other poster, yes, you have to call each day, and call separately for your ADR's after the cruise.

I really want 10/9 and am only making 10/7 in case I don't get 10/9.

Personally, I think the 180+10 is more confusing than any other policy they've had in place in recent times.

We are doing a split stay in Sept/Oct and they allowed me to make ressies for 180 days + 10 from my check in at the 1st resort. I explained that I was transferring after 5 days and they said that was okay. I booked CRT for Oct. 5 on March 31 (I was actually a day early but neither myself or the CM noticed it until I called back later).

So, you should be able to book all your ADRs 180 days from Oct 2. Good luck!

It is true that you can make all of your ADRs for your entire trip on the 180-day mark of check-in date. BUT, keep in mind that for the 180+ days, WDW does not release ALL tables, just a %. This means if you get a ressie for a day other than your first day and you don't particularly like the time, call back on the exact 180-day of that ressie and you might have a chance to change it to a better time because now all the tables and ressies are available. This is what we did and it worked perfectly. It also meant that I had to get up early more than one day, but it was completely worth it!

I feel silly asking this but I was reading this and I guess having a "Brain Fart". I am waiting to book my package for the FDD code to come out. But I am already at my 180 mark. Can I make some of my ADR's now? Like CRT? I can't remember. Thanks

You don't have to have a reservation number to make an ADR; those guests staying off-site are able to make ADRs. They will ask for your phone number for the reservation.

When/if you do get a CRO reservation, you can have your existing ADRs linked to your new reservation number.

Thanks I knew that was the case but as I said I'm only on my first cup of coffee so my brain isn't running on all cylinders yet.

I was also wondering about ADR's you need to pre pay for. Will I have to pre pay if I plan to be on the dining plan but don't yet have a ressie #?

Thanks

We haven't eaten at CRT so I have no personal experience, but from what I've read, you MUST book it with a credit card then when you get there, they will credit your card for the amount paid and deduct your dining credits.

They want to be sure they don't have people book the CRT with the dining credits, then not show.

I booked the Fantasmic package with the dining plan and still had to leave my credit card number in case we don't show, they charge a $10 pp cancellation fee.

Thanks. I do have experience w/ CRT. I know you have to leave a CC # to hold it and they take the credits from your dining plan when you check in but nothing is actually charged to your card when making the ADR. I was just wondering if they would charge my card seeing I don't actually have a ressie # to give them for reference. It only makes sense they would. So I guess I'll have to wait until next week to make my ADR's. Here's hoping I get my CRT ADR I'm hoping for!

Well, I called this morning and got Cindy's very easily for Oct. 9, using the 180+10 rule. I had to have my resort confirmation number on hand and I needed the one where I was checking in first, because of the split stay!

It was much easier to get Cindy's then in the past...maybe because of the price---$169 for 4 of us, with tax.

I figured as much. I will wait until next week to make my ADR's then when I have my Res# in hand. I'm htinking it won't be that hard for us to get in seeing we want Lunch not breakfast and we will be there for 12 days and I would take anyday that is open.

Thanks for all the help
