Can't believe I just snagged a value studio at AKV for March

So I've been booked at AKV Jambo house with a Savannah view for awhile now for our March 13-18 trip. I had really wanted BLT or WL for convenience but haven't been able to snag one. I had been calling every so often to check and was waitlisted of course.

Once the online booking became available I started watching there. At one point they had four nights of the week available at WL and I should have grabbed it but I didn't. They were gone the next day. Then for a little while the remaining night was available and I think might still be. But anyway, I missed that one.

Yesterday I saw there was a standard view at Kidani and it would save me 13 points so I took it. We're not going to be in the room anyway so the view is pointless to pay for. But I wasn't really excited to be at Kidani, I wanted to be at Jambo house for the food court.

So today I was doing one of my multiple checks for WL or BLT and decided to run a check on a standard view at Jambo house and low and behold, there's a value studio available. I grabbed the phone to call and of course the automated messages are taking forever. But I got through and quickly told the guy I was trying to grab a value studio I had seen and he was great. He very quickly got things pulled up and switched us over. So I saved another 19 points. I went from spending 101 points to only 69 for our trip.

I really want the convenience of being near the MK as we will spend most of our time there and be trying to make rope drops and morning EMH. But the points I'm saving could be used to talk DH into a weekend trip for F&W festival. Hmm...... what to do.

I could have snagged a value 1BR for our March trip as well (3 days after our cruise before we head home). I couldn't believe a 1BR Value was available just over a month out.

I hope it was only available becuase someone else got a room they had waitlisted or something as opposed to having to cancel their trip for some reason. I almost felt bad. But I was excited to save the points. It may mean an extra trip later in the year for DH and I!!

I have been very surprised at the availability of ADR's for our week too. I've made and changed so many over the last few weeks. Maybe we'll get lucky and the crowds won't be quite as bad as I've feared.

Congratulations, the value villas at AKV imo are the best value DVC rooms on property. We had a 2 bed in September, it had a fabulous savannah view and only a really short walk to the lobby and pool. Perfect.
