I thought that any SD card would work in this camera but I purchased a 32GB Lexar Professional SDHC card and it did not work. I know there is nothing wrong with the card because it works just fine in my Panasonic Lumix TS3.

If you have this camera, can you please post the type of SDXC card that you are using. Since I now have to get a new card anyway, I'm looking at the 64GB SDXC instead of the 32GB SDHC. TIA!

what kind of message are you getting? I think any SD card should work with the T3 (1100D)

Did you try formatting the card in your T3?

As a general rule, if a card is problematic, you're more likely to have better luck going smaller than larger. Strictly speaking, if I understand the standards correctly, SD is up to 2GB, SDHC is 4-32GB and SDXC is 64GB+.

I have a T2i and use a 32GB Lexar Pro and have a basic 4GB Sandisk as a backup. I'm actually a big fan of Sandisk.

I get the error "Card cannot be accessed."
When I tried to format in camera I was getting something like an Er3 or some other number. I don't want to try it again since it's working in my other camera. I tried both ways of formatting it in my T3.
I finally had to a long format thorugh my laptop and that got it working in my Lumix.

It is a Lexar Professional SDHC 32GB 133x Speed Class 10 memory card. Reimero, Is that what you have in your T2i?

No one is using a SDXC in their T3 camera? The manual states it is compatible but just concerned since I couldn't get this SDHC 32GB to work. Maybe I'll try SanDisk which is what my 4GB is.

Yes, it sounds like you're using the same card I am.

SDXC is the latest of the SecureDigital card formats, and supports the largest file sizes. Theoretically, the smallest is 48GB, but right now the only sizes I've seen are 64GB and 128GB. Supposedly the standard supports up to 2TB, but the technology hasn't caught up (and even if it had, it would be cost-prohibitive.)

so you tried formatting the card in your computer and then using it in the camera? (without the camera formatting)

Yes, and that is how I got it to work in my Lumix but will not work in my T3.

I could not format card in my Lumix camera either :confused3

Formatting option is pretty easy to figure out but I checked the manual just incase to make sure I was doing it right.

Also, my computer would not do a quick format. Had to do long format. Maybe I got a bad card but it is working now in my Lumix, which I needed a card for anyone.

Did you have to format card when you first used it?

Best Buy has a Transcend 64GB SDXC card for $79 with free shipping and I have rewards points to use from buying camera plus some Christmas gift cards. But, not sure if they will let me return it if it doesn't work?

I would definitely try formatting it again in the T3 using the low level format option before returning it or calling it a bad card.
