I got a Canon Rebel as a gift for Christmas, and the battery just ran out. :( Where is the best (least expensive?) place to get a replacement? I looked on eBay, but most of them seems to be "knock offs" and I wasn't too sure about the quality. Should I look into buying a recharger instead? :confused3

Thanks!

buy a recharger? it comes with package, the original Canon battery should last a long time. if for some reason you did not get a battery recharger I would look at "knock off" rechargers, I have a replacement battery from bestbatt.com but the original is so good I've never had to use the backup

Well, what do ya know!? There's one in the box! :thumbsup2 Sorry for the dumb question and thanks for the help!

Well, if one charge lasted from X-mas to now, I officially say that you need to go out and use your camera some more!!! (and read your manual)

i'd say you can pick up third party replacements for under $20 but you may not need one;):). in reality, with my xt the battery only lasts about 400-550 photos or so. if you plan on ever taking it on vacation or anything you might want a spare. i have 3 and switch using them each time, they all last about the same amount and have been good for over 3 yrs( 4 in july)

That's amazing! I am happy if my battery lasts for a full day! ;)
I will not go into the details of OEM vs 3rd party batteries, just that I buy Canon batteries for insurance.

You should carry a spare anyway! I got my Rebel XT spare at http://www.sterlingtek.com based on the recommendations here, and never had an issue! I'm about to order one from there for my 40D:thumbsup2
