Canon EOS 60D?

Correct! The 7D sensor has 8 readout channels compared to the T2i sensor's 4 channels, presumably to feed the 7D's dual DIGIC 4 processors and support the 8 fps burst rate. T2i has only a single DIGIC 4 and about half that burst rate.

Right ... in terms of IQ, however, the two sensors are identical (same surface with the gapless microlenses). The 7D's is tweaked to transmit data twice as fast....

Hi everyone! I just wanted to say thank you for all of the terrific advice. It took some time to get my taxes back and that was perfect for researching cameras.
I tried all of the ones in my price range. I finally went with a Nikon D5000. When I held it in my hands it just fit perfectly. It's not too heavy and has a fully automatic mode so I can just shoot pictures when I want to be lazy.

I thought I would post a few picks here to show you. I know I have to work on my focusing, exposure and well just about everything:rotfl: but I so very happy with this camera that I could sleep with it at night!

Well here are some of the 1000 pics I have taken in the past month!

My daughter, she is usually willing to be my guinea pig.

Cropped and turned b/w because I liked the light patterns.

Look! I caught her in the air. My old camera never did that!

My friend's nephew, all dirty, sweaty boy.

I am not very enthused about shooting non-people pictures but I am going to work on it.

So after this very long message, I just wanted to Thank you all again for helping me choose my very awesome camera!

And if anyone has any suggestions or critiques feel free to tell me, I need to learn a lot but can't wait to get started.

OP..... The T2i has been discussed her. Just an FYI..... if you find yourself leaning that direction, but like the articulating screen....... the new T3i did add that feature. Wish mine could be retrofitted! :goodvibes

Well I went with a Nikon D5000 but hardly use the articulated screen. It's weird how fast I got used to using a viewfinder again after all the years using my point and shoots display. The only thing I don't like is if I don't have it turned around my face oils yuck up the LCD display. That should be fun in August!

I shoot a T2i and a 60D and have used Canon for years and years, so I have to ask this question just to make sure we're all on the CORRECT page here.

The OP was about a D60. I'm pretty sure Canon DID make a D60 in the early 2000's (2002'ish, maybe). Are they talking about the D60 or last year's 60D?

FYI, most of the Canon loyalists griping about the 60D is coming from the pro side of the market and it's mostly static abou the so-called "plastic body" (hogwash) and the lack of lens calibration that was part of the 50D and below. Without getting into a lot of hyperbole about it, suffice it to say that these two things will not matter to most amatuers and even most semi-professional photographers, IMO. I LOVE my 60D. Just try to take it away from me. ;)

is there a big difference between the Rebel cameras and the 40D, 50D, 60D series?

Such a subjective question, on many levels.

Is there a difference in this year's Corvette and a 2009? 2007? It's all a matter of miniscule yet measurable degrees if it comes right down to it. Video aside, in the hands of a true professional, it would be hard to tell, if not impossible; which photographs cames from which camera given RAW output, 8x10 prints, and the same test lens batch.

Sorry folks. Just realized we had:

a. Dug up a post from January that has, for the most part, already been settled.
b. Apparently, the 60D v. D60 thing was just a typo in the first/original post.

My bad.

I see the OP decided to go with one of the popular knock-offs. Hey... can't save'em all! :rotfl2::rotfl2:
