Does anyone have a Canon A570IS? If so, what are the pros and cons. I have a Kodak EasyShare with 10X Zoom. I'm looking for a digital that is basically Point and Shoot like the Kodak, but that may be a little smaller and where the lens closes when off. The Kodak has a lens cap and it never stays on when I put it in my bag. I'm afraid the lens will get all scratched. I want a camera I can throw in my purse or bag and take anywhere. I'd also like as much zoom as possible. The Canon has 4X and that seems to be about the best I can find. But from the pictures I'm not sure the lens closes or if it has a lens cap. Sorry if this is confusing. :confused3 Any help would be appreciated.

I dont own a a570($133), but i can tell you that the lens does retract in when it is not turned on and a cover closes over the lens to protect it.
If your looking for something with a little more zoom on it you can look at the Canon sx100($222) which has a 10x zoom or the Canon s5IS($315) which has a 12x zoom on it. Looking on amazon.com there is about a $100-$200 dollar price difference between them.

The SX100 retracts in, the S5 retracts in also but in order to protect the lens it needs a lens cap. I dont think you would have a problem with the cap coming off, they usually use a pinch type of cap so it shoulf be pretty secure on there.
