Hi I posted this before i want to try another luck.

LCD screen of my Canon 60D shows nothing, although camera seems to work fine. I tried pressing Info button several times, no response.

I google and find that one possible solution would be reset factory settings
now problem is without LCD showing the menu, i cannot really use the menu to do "clear settings".

If i leave my battery out of the camera for a week ,would that help?

( i heard you can take date time battery out which i cannot locate exactly where it is )
Thanks
TC

Could you maybe try plugging your camera to your computer, and maybe using the Canon software to reset the settings???

Also, maybe try posting your question on the photograhy-on-the-net.com forums. I'd be curious to what the issue is.

This was posted on dpreview by someone. Can't say if it works or not. Be careful! Here is the website with a picture as well.

"If you want to reset your camera totally first go in to the menu and reset to factory settings, then pull out the battery. Look in the battery compartment, and you'll see a little slider you can pull towards you. Behind this slider are the backup-battery hidden. Take this battery out for at least an hour, replace the backup-battery, and the "normal" battery. You camerea is now totally reset. But you won't be able to downgrade the firmware as it resides in eeprom memory.

I don't know if there's a reset function for the firmware, and i will not experiment with it. I'm afraid that it will not be possible to flash firmware after clearing the eeprom (electrical erasable programmable read only memory).

HI i did see that post, but i cannot locate the little slider and/or the little battery

because it probably doesn't have a little battery behind the big battery

did you try pressing the info button? one menu choice on that completely blanks the LCD
