HELP!! We are currently booked for 8 nights at the BC in October. The cast is myself, DH, and our twin 18 month old DS and DD. This is our first trip with our children.

We always stay at the BC and just LOVE it, but we are getting worried that we didn't book a monorail resort. We will have a car if that matters, but I'm just worried that being on the monorail will be easier and offer more eating options for the kiddos.

What should we do? Stay at the BC, or switch to a monorail resort?

Thanks!

I would say, "don't mess with perfection." If you're very happy with your current choice, then why change?

I've learned the hard way that following the "hype" (on DIS :rolleyes1 ) over a particular resort can really lead to disappointment. That's how I chose our first onsite resort and I went in with SUCH high expectations that we ended up being very disappointed. The next onsite stay we went in with little expectations and chose it based on what was important to us. And we were TRHILLED, so we're going back again this year!

If they are beach lovers, stay at the BC....my son loves that pool...could have given a hoot about anything else;) . Also, you have Beaches and Cream right there, along with some great places to eat. You can walk around with them along the entire boardwalk, and see fireworks from Epcot.

In October :scratchin you have to stay at the Beach Club just for the Food & Wine Festival.

We are going to DW in December of 09 and I have been debating where to stay as well. Our DD will be 3 and we will have a DS or DD about 10 months old (if all goes well:). First we were going to go to AKL because DD loves animals, but now I'm leaning towards Contemporary. I figure she will love where ever we go and the convenience of the Contemporary with naps, etc. is just too important for us. It's a short walk (this is great):thumbsup2 , a monorail, or bus ride away and that's what led us to the Contemporary. When they are older, I will be choosing a resort based on other things....for now...Contemporary is the one for us.
Hope this helps...but it's nice to know there is someone out there thinking like me.

We have never stayed at Beach Club but we loved staying at the Contemporary with the monorail when we went when two of our children were about 4 months and 19 months. Transportation was very easy and smooth because we could just wheel the kids onto the monorail while they were in the stroller.

Since you have the flexibility of a car, I would vote that you stay where you really want.

It really depends on you and your children. I voted Poly, but you can't go wrong with Poly or CR. If money is no object, I'd say stay at the CR in a MK View Rm!!! But since money is an object for most people, I vote for Poly and a GV Rm. Although a Wing Rm at the CR is cheaper, I prefer the Poly if I can't get a MK View Rm at the CR. That's just me though.

I say if your kids are big nappers, you probably would want to go with Poly or CR; especially if you'll be spending most of your time at MK. If your children aren't big nappers or can fall asleep anywhere, I say go with what you know. I voted for Poly because I've found that most toddlers are MK enthusiasts, and being on the monorail makes it very easy for mid-day breaks and nap times. Also, the monorail is easy access to Epcot, and like you said, being on the monorail gives you convenient access to what I feel are the best restaraunts in all of Disney; the MK Resorts and Epcot.

I hope this helps out a little. :goodvibes

I think it depends on which park you'll be at the most. If you think the MK will be one you'll spend lots of your time at, I would go with a monorail resort for the simple reason of convenience with the little ones :). We love the Poly for convenience and overall ambiance of the resort ;). But since you have a car, transportation really won't be an issue. As far as eating.....I think the monorail resorts have more options. The BC doesn't offer any kind of food court or snack shop (other than Marketplace, which I think only has simple grab-n-go items); whereas the other resorts have snack shops with a variety of things to choose from. We stayed at the BC in 2003 and this was our only drawback.....not too many options for quick, but hot breakfast/lunch (without doing Cape May buffet every day). But the decision is really up to you.....if you love the BC, there's really no reason to go somewhere else. The BC is a beautiful resort...but I really don't think you can go wrong with any of them :cutie:. Good luck with your decision and have a great first trip with your little ones :cool1: :cool1:.

I voted BC. If you love it there, that's where I would go. The Poly was our first deluxe and we do like being on the monorail. We really only end up using it for the Magic Kingdom though. On our last trip, my son was three and still in the stroller quite a bit. It was easier for us to just drive over to Epcot than it was to take the monorail. :)

I think it depends on where you will be spending all your time.

We are booking Poly when we take our nieces because we will do MK alot and it is much easier with the monorail.
