Honestly?? Not really :goodvibes

I love every aspect of planning a Florida holiday - even the bits I don't like and I would probably put Seaworld into that category.
The reason I enjoy it though is because DD is big into marine life so I know that she will probably get more out of a day there than anywhere else - although she will enjoy the other parks too :thumbsup2
I hate shopping - DW loves it. But we still factor it into our trips and I don't mind that. I guess the trick is to make sure that either in the middle or end of the day something gets in there that you know you will enjoy. Have you looked at all the different restaurants in City Walk. Maybe there is one of those that you could go to once everyone else has had their fun in US. Or plan to finish the day by going back to where you are staying via one of the Disney firework displays. It makes the day a little longer - but having that light at the end of the tunnel may help

With me it is the Space center. I have been there it was interesting but I have no wish to do it again. My DH is a space geek and loves it but i just can't get excited about it. Last year he went on his own. What a bad wife i am.

I do love Universal, but it definitely doesn't give me the same feeling as Disney does, I don't think we're even gonna' bother with it for the next trip, we'll go back in a few years. But, as it's your first time there, you should be excited! It's awesome, just not something I feel I have to get back to desperately.

I love all 7 parks in the Orlando theme park. I don't really get excited any more about any of them though love visiting them. I try to make sure everyone has a good time :).

I know what you mean. We are going for three weeks - our first week on I Drive to do Seaworld Islands and Universal. Then two weeks of Disney. I am planning Disney to death but our first week just does not light my fire :confused3 (apart from the shopping :thumbsup2)

this is exactly how i feel i am planning disney each day so we get the very best out of the holiday but just not bothered about universal! but honestly i will have to get started soon as i really want the boys to have a fab time and i know the universal parks will give them all the thrills they want and also see harry potter if we can get in without camping outside for the night! ;)

i am looking forward to seeing the xmas decorations though and hopefully i will love it once we are there!!!!

Perhaps you're looking at it too much through your eyes. If the main draw of Universal is for your sons and brother, why not let them look at what is available at Universal and let them set the agenda for the days whilst you're there?

I'm surprised that their excitement is not rubbing off on you! Islands of Adventure has some of the best rides in Orlando, Spider-Man, Dudley Do-Rights, Jurassic Park, The Hulk, Cat in the Hat - not all fast rollercoasters, and I've not even mentioned Harry Potter!

As for struggling for planning for stuff that you're not that into, if you don't have a bit of give and take whilst you're on holiday, you're asking for trouble! :thumbsup2

for our first trip we didnt bother with any other parks than the disney ones

we stayed akl and basically ate, slept and lived disney.

we loved it

the next year we went half and half. half disney, half universal.

we loved that and have used that method since

the kids are older now and were only doing 5 days disney and the rest universal. harry potter being the biggest draw for us.

i dont think you can do florida wrong.

maybe you could do equal time in all parks then next time you go spend more on the ones you love and less on the ones you dont. i love seaworld but everyone groaned when i mentioned going more than once there. THEY WILL GO ONCE AND THEY WILL LIKE IT :)

even if you dont think youll like the big coasters you will find so much to see on your first trip it wont really matter.

THEY WILL GO ONCE AND THEY WILL LIKE IT ;)

:thumbsup2:rotfl2:

the more we look at it the more i am being brought round to the fact!! i cant expect everyone to want to be in disney everyday! ;) (these r my hubby's words) but finding lots to be doing there and the boys r so excited about simpsons hulk and shrek im sure the two days i allow them will be fab!! :rotfl:
