I like fresh vegtables the best. Having said that however, I prefer canned green beans to frozen. Now all vegtables are available frozen. It occurred to me however that there is NO CANNED BROCOLI!! Has anyone ever noticed that?
Not that it would be good...... :rotfl:

I like canned green beans better, too. I think because they were my favorite when I was a kid. My older sister can't stand them because I requested them with practically every meal. :teeth:

Hmm...canned broccoli? No cauliflower, either. :teeth: There's probably a good reason for that.

I never considered cauliflower.

Can you name the only vegetable that is only served fresh, never cooked, canned, frozen, etc.?

I just don't think Broccoli would hold up well in water, the same for Califlower, I think.

Lettuce!?

Dawn--I think you're the only other person that I've heard (besides me) have a preference for canned green beans.

Now I LOVE fresh green beans. I LIKE canned green beans. But there is something about frozen green beans that turns my stomach. I have never been able to eat them. Don't know why. Glad to know I'm not alone.

If you want to get technical, there are some types of lettuce (Chinese) that are cooked. I was going to say cucumber, but I think I've seen a couple recipes that have cucumber and are cooked. I don't think I would like them though.

I like canned green beans more than fresh. I also prefer canned peas. I LOVE canned peas.

I prefer canned green beans too. Frozen green beans seem rubbery to me. However, I can't stand canned peas. I like them frozen or fresh, but canned taste like a totally different vegetable - more like lima beans IMO.

frozen ones turn my stomach. They are so rubbery! I also refuse to eat corn on the cob thats been frozen after it was cooked. it gets so nasty.

Step away from the canned veggies. :teeth:

We only eat fresh or frozen.

Frozen green beans are rubbery.

I am not a canned veggie person other than beans. I like frozen peas, fresh string beans ext.

But canned fruit coctail, peaches, lychee are so good!

I'll eat canned fruit, but the only canned vegetable that I like is Niblets corn. It's got to be fresh or frozen. Loving the local farm stand because fresh green beans are the best.

I prefer canned green beans over fresh, but I only like one brand--Del Monte. The other brands don't taste right---probably all the salt they add to it. But the no-salt version doesn't taste good. :earboy2:

We'll do fresh, frozen or canned--not too picky about that, but there's some veggies I just don't do, like carrots. Ick. :rotfl:

I love fresh green beans, but I do prefer canned over frozen. I did discover that putting frozen green beans in a crockpot with something else cooks them enough that they lose the rubbery feeling and still taste fresh.

Peas are a big no-no. Blech. Ptooey. :crazy2:

I prefer canned corn. It's sweeter. Some fresh corn have been sitting too long by the time it's out in the stores. I can't seem to cook the frozen properly.

I love canned yams & canned peaches, pears & lycee nuts. :flower:

And yes, the Chinese do cook lettuce too. It's part of the philosophy of Traditional Chinese Medicine. They cook almost ALL their foods before eating, so the body will not have to work harder to "cook" it during digestion.

I LOVE LeSeour peas. I also like canned black-eyed peas and ranch style beans. As for fruit, mandarin oranges and pineapple are good. And my favorite cranberry sauce is the best. :)
