We used to stay at the candycane inn but not in about 8 years. Is it still nice? Any others you like, we book 3 rooms and Disney just doesnt want to give me a break on rates

We stayed there last December/January and liked it a lot. We arrived at about 11in the morning and they had a room we could have then, not the 2nd floor room we wanted but we were so tired from travelling we stayed in it for the one night. The room was a little "worn" but fine. When we moved up to the second floor we were much happier. The room was in better condition (nothing serious, just less wear) but we really liked being able to sit at the nice table and chairs in the sun there to have our free breakfast. Not cooked but there was oatmeal, tons of really good fresh muffins, Danishes, bagel and cream cheese, toast, cereals, fresh fruit, big dispensers of apple or orange juice, coffee, hot chocolate, tea bags. We filled our big travel mugs every morning with mocha, (coffee and hot choclate) and a couple of cups of juice and milk to keep in the fridge for later. We also always had extra fruit for our room, and some muffins. For 4 adults, that adds up to quite a bit of money every day, so if you are going to pay the same rate elsewhere it is really worth staying there instead. And them having their own private shuttle is awesome! However, if you can pay slightly less or the entertainment rate, then Hojo's is a good option. The pool and hot tob at CCI were verynice too. Not to mention the extremely nice and helpful staff!

We stayed there in May for the first time and just loved it! The grounds are just beautiful. Loved the free breakfast and free shuttle. There is no parking fee either. The beds are sooo comfortable. We will stay there again for sure!

My DH and DD(15) just stayed there in October and loved it. We had a standard room with two queens. The rooms do not have a lot of extra space, but it worked great for us. Would be crowded if you had four to a room or lots of luggage. I agree with pp that the free breakfast saves tons of time and $$. There were lots of options, but nothing hot to eat except instant oatmeal. They did have peanut butter and cream cheese to put on toast or bagels as well as danish and muffins, cold cereals, and fresh fruit. You may remember that it is a short walk to the main entrance, but we also loved having the direct shuttle that served only the CCI. It leaves every half hour from the inn or the parks. Staff is very friendly. The only places that I would prefer to stay are the Grand Calif. and the Disneyland Hotel.
