You never really hear about this on here. I dont think I have even ever been in there. What do they have? Anything nice for an 8 year old, or is it better to just stick to Goofy's for a treat? I am assuming it is stil there obviously.

I don't believe this - second time in a week that I have posted on one board thinking it was another! :sad2: I really must go for that eye test - or get some sleep!

Please move to the restaurant board, which is where I thought I was posting - or wherever else is appropriate. Sorry about this. :flower3:

you got it Tiggies - you might get more responses on main restaurants. Everyone seems to go to Goofy's for DDP snacks, not Candy Cauldron.

It is a much smaller shop- they have a good selection of Disney chocolates but they don't have the fun- make it your own way stuff from Goofy's- if I am on westside of DTD and want something I go in but Goofy's is a larger more impressive candy shop- if you had a child that was easily overstimulated than this might be a good alternative to Goofy's.

I do love the Candy Cauldron...we stop by there every year and get either marshmallows dipped in chocloate or a sweet treat. There isn`t anything in there that you can`t get in Goofy`s Candy Co, which has a much bigger selection. I just like the name Candy Cauldron!! LOL

It was actually the same thing that grabbed my attention too. :) This is a surprise trip for DD and I am now working on how I will break the news to her the night before (or maybe on the plane :ssst:).

We are going on a weekend and normally, every weekend she gets a "Menu Night" where I give her a menu of fun meals and she gets to pick what we eat, then gets to pick a dessert. I thought I would prepare the menu with EoS as the dinner, a list of ADR's for the trip and name a place for her to get her candy for "dessert". I had also considered the size of Goofy's and wondered if it would be too overwhelming on arrival night (long flight and arriving early evening) with the range of choices. She can get distressed with too many options and having to pick, so I thought Goofys may best be saved for a day when we are both awake and able to enjoy the experience a bit better. Make your own can wait too - just more things to decide ....!

I meant to add, I don't think CC takes dining plan snack credits and I am fine with this - it is just a little stop-over to get the magic started!

What a lovely idea! I have always thought a surprise trip would be a great idea but I talk about it too much....maybe next year!

Hi Kathryn

I have kept this a secret for a year!!! Exciting as it is, it is a LONG time not to be able to tell anyone. Never mind - 5 months and some weeks and days, and I can explain that Spain has "moved" ..... to Florida! :rotfl2:

What fun! We surprised our son a few years back. We had packed everything before he got home from school and then headed to my inlaws for the night to celebrate my fil's birthday. I made a cake that looked like the big hat at dhs for his birthday and after we celebrated my fil's birthday, I pulled out a disney gift bag and gave it to my son. Inside the bags was a bunch of disney goodies, such as fruit snacks, playing cards, the official guide for kids ( funny part is that I took this off of his bookshelf). He said I already have this book, I said I know, it is yours. He was still a little clueless at that point. I had a new Buzz toothbrush and so on. My husband asked him if he wanted to go back to disney and of course he said yes. Then my husband told him we were leaving in the morning. It was such a great surprise, he couldn't believe it. It made for such a special trip!
