Candy Cane Inn vs. the Hojo

Whichever is cheaper.

Seriously, they both have plenty of good features. I just haven't been able to find CCI rates cheaper than Hojo rates for any of our dates in recent years. My boys are 9 and 11. Both still enjoy the water play area as well as the swimming pool at Hojos. I like the interior corridors and the bigger feeling rooms. CCI has a better than average continental breakfast with a lot of selection; it's one of my boys' favorite things about that hotel. The pool looks pleasant but small. Parking looks sparse, and yet we've never had difficulty securing a spot. The shuttle is a nice perk if our timing is right. My only real complaint about CCI is the room feels very small when there are four people in it. If it was just DH and me, and the price was reasonable I would definitely like to return to CCI sometime. Of course, our sons would probably never forgive us for going without them.

I always prefer the CCI but it all depends on the trip budget for each trip. If we have the money to spend we like CCI (always with a AAA discount) a good deal more; the rooms are nice, the grounds are pretty, the walk to the gate is nicer and they have a shuttle if need be and they have a free breakfast (though we have only done this a couple of times since we like breakfast in the park).
That being said the Hojo is good too. The rooms are pretty nice and clean and the walk to the gate isn't too bad we just have a happier "vacation" feel at CCI.
We are going to Disneyland the end of July and have booked the Hojo for two nights since it was a last minute addition to the end of our Comic Con trip so I'd rather save some money to spend in the park then pay more for the room.

This is an important line to me. From looking at the map, it seems like the walk would be more pleasant from the CCI. More Disney infused since you don't pass all the other hotels maybe?

DS has voted for the CCI because of the breakfast. He thinks I won't say no to doughnuts is they are free.

(BTW, we'll be at comic con, too! Although, we only got one day tickets because of the horrible online situation this year.)
