If you've stayed at both, which did you like better?

I currently have two reservations for next May....the Candy Cane Inn and the Best Western Park Place Inn.
This is our first ever trip to the west coast and we're so excited to see Disneyland. We LOVE Disneyworld and our favorite resort is Port Orleans Riverside, followed by Port Orleans French Quarter because of the grounds and ambiance. Any opinions on Candy Cane Inn vs. Best Western Park Place In..

Candy Cane Inn is a bit farther away, but has easy access to shopping for basics at CVS and Walgreen's Drug Stores with Grocery Items, and 7-11 for drinks and such. Also a free shuttle service to the parks. Basic free breakfast, but lack of seating.

Best Western Plus Park Place Inn and Suites (BWPPPI&S) also has a basic breakfast, but you are expected to walk to the park, but since it is one of the two closest to the main gate, not a big issue for most. One issue might be the construction noise going on at the rear of the property for the new Disneyland Eastern Gateway project, but so long as you are planning to head to the parks at opening, it isn't a big deal unless you are planning an afternoon nap or sleeping in one day.

Both are old Motels that have had cosmetic upgrades over the years, but still small room, basic pool and parking next to the rooms and limited spaces.

To me, it would be a coin toss, and which had the lower room rates, but neither are in my top 10 non-Disney Hotels/Motels in the area. I prefer the Park Vue Inn as compared to BWPPPI&S next door, or a Hotel/Motel on the ART Shuttle route. It all depends on what you are looking for.

We've stayed at both and I feel that Candy Cane Inn has the better grounds and ambiance hands down. The bed was also more comfortable and rooms seemed to be a bit more sound proof at Candy Cane Inn than BWPPI. The free breakfast at both is pretty comparable. The walk is farther to CCI, but it's really not too bad, and as mentioned there is also a free dedicated shuttle. Honestly, I would choose whichever has the better rate, but keep in mind if you have a car, the parking charge at BWPPI is $10/night, CCI has free parking.

I'll take the premium rooms at the CCI every time. Bath robes, amenities basket, breakfast delivered to my room -- yes! Plus, the staff is always super helpful and friendly.

I can't stand getting nickeled and dimed so its the Candy Cane Inn for our family. No parking fees, no resort charges, no extra charge for the shuttle, no extra charge for wifi, no extra charge for anything.

I have stayed at both and have only done the best western once and candy cane inn 3. Times ... Says a lot right there
I'd chose candy cane again and again over best western

My BIL has stayed at CCI at least 3 times and just came back from another stay there.

He likes that the property is well maintained and the rooms are clean and comfortable.......this is his go to place whenever he goes to DLR.

I would pick the Candy Cane Inn every time. I haven't stayed there for a while because we drive into the parks due to my son's medical conditions making it hard for us to use the shuttle, and the lack of parking late at night. Once you find a spot, don't move your car! lol. Plus, they give you a 10.00 certificate for your next stay and all of the employees are great!! The shuttle is excellent (they do have one grouchy driver, but no biggie).
