We are a family of 5 (2A/3C). This is our 1st trip to DL. At WDW we stay on the monorail in a Deluxe, but we don't want to spend the $$ to stay at the DLH or GC since we are flying cross country.

So, out of these 4 which would you choose? Looking for space/storage, would love free b'fast, clean, updated, safe, not noisy. Thanks for any help!

I've heard wonderful reviews on this board of HoJo's, but the only one you mentioned that I've personally stayed in is the Fairfield.

I had no complaints about it. It was very clean and nice. If I were to stay there again I would choose a room a little further from the pool because there was a lot of noise from that.

We are going again in April and are staying at Portofino in a Kid's Suite. The only reason I'm choosing not to stay at The Fairfield again is for size. We had two kids the last time we went and now we have three so I wanted a bit more room to spread out. Good luck with your choice! :goodvibes

I LOVE the Hojo!! (Howard Johnson)
They have an entertainment rate on select dates out of the months. Where the kids suite would be 99 a night and the two Queens would be 79 a night. Both of which would fit you. There is no breakfast but the rooms do come with a fridge and microwave. There are grocery stores that will let you order online and deliver to your hotel.I don't know which ones but someone else on the boards will! ;) I don't know if you could fit some things like instant oatmeal and plastic spoons in your suitcase. There is also a store down stairs with milk and cereal.
You can get the Entertainment card on ebay for like 3 dollars or so I've heard. :confused3 You can also buy the books by going to their site. You can just go to their site http://www.entertainment.com/discount/home.shtml and it will prompt you to find one in your are. It has some really great deals. \

The reservations specialist is on the boards frequently to answer questions. They have WONDERFUL costumer service!!!! :cloud9:
This is their direct Anaheim website

This talks about the Entertainment rate and what numbers to call to get reservations. You don't pay now, so you can reserve your room if you are far enough out) and if your days come up then you get it for the E rate (if the don't you can search for somewhere cheaper. Tell them you are a disboard remember they will give you a discount too. I think it's 20% off not sure though. There is also a disney view for 10 more a night if that matters to you. You can also request the front building which is a little closer to the street, they try to honor all requests. They really have superior customer service IMHO.

I hope this information helps you. BTW they have the BEST kids pool area!! Check it out on their site!!! :thumbsup2

Second vote for HoJo! They don't have breakfast, but it is very easy to keep some breakfast items in the fridge, and you save so much with the entertainment rate that there is still a savings even after paying for breakfast! :cool1: We always make sure to have breakfast at least once at Mimi's, too, and it is right by the HoJo. The pool is great, and the walk to the park is easy-breezy!

We have stayed at CCI, as well, and found it to be over-rated and felt that the cost was too high for what the rooms were. The beds were nice, but the rooms were tiny, the pool was over-chlorinated, and their 'breakfast' was nothing substantial, and we had to eat elsewhere anyhow. Plus, the walk was very unpleasant from the CCI, and the shuttle was difficult to time.

I have a friend who stayed at the Fairfield, and she liked it, but said it was on the small side.

I really think the HoJo meets what you are looking for. They have a few different room options, and I'll bet they have one that would work well for your party. :goodvibes

Thanks for all the info on the HoJo! Do they offer the Ent Rate in June? We already have a card for discounts locally.

It doesn't look like they have dates available for June yet, but you can keep checking. FYI, you get 15% off for the nights that the 50% isn't available, so it always works out to be very affordable. Here is the link if you don't have it:

I think you will find that you love it there. It is such a good balance of convenience, value, and comfort. :goodvibes
