Good afternoon! I've read quite a few threads about the Candy Cane Inn breakfast options but it has left me with a couple of questions if ya'll don't mind helping me out :)

First questions are in regards to the standard room continental breakfast vs premium in room breakfast option.

Q: Do you have the same options with both breakfasts or do you have more of a selection with premium?

Q: I have read that you can order as much as you like with the premium in room breakfast...for example, several milks (and keep the extra in your fridge.) Couldn't you grab as many milks as you want from the continental and do the same, or no?

Q: Do you get to pick your own time for breakfast to be delivered to your room or are there designated times already put in place?

Last Q, a little off topic... do ya'll know if we could get away with bringing a toaster with us and using it in room? (or is toast an option on the breakfast menu? I have a 10 year old that loves her toast lol)

Thank ya'll so much!

I have never had the premium room so I can't comment on the delivery aspects.
Also, I didn't go this summer as we usually do because we went to WDW instead. The last time we were at CCI was last July.

That said, last summer they added cheese cubes and hard boiled eggs which I really liked. You can take whatever you need for breakfast, no one stops you. One thing I have seen is people take the tray from their room, run down to the breakfast room and take food back to the room for their families. We like to be ready to leave from breakfast to the parks.

They have a toaster there with a conveyer belt so several can use it at the same time. They also have bagels, muffins, donuts, fruit, yogurt, and cereal.

I can tell you we sure missed this breakfast at WDW! We paid twice as much for a room but had no breakfast included. We ended up just eating a bar at the bus stop, rather than pay for a breakfast in the food court.

These are the items they added last year:

The menu is about the same. You can order what you need. Milk is not in cartons, so not really. They deliver a carafe of milk to the room. They have delivery times, such as 6:00, 6:15, etc... You select one, they deliver within a few minutes of that. And they have a toaster. We usually order bagels and they come toasted. It comes in a little picnic type basket, really cute.

Milk is the biggest concern for us...as we drink A LOT. I get up in the middle of the night craving milk so I am glad you mentioned that the milk does not come in cartons. Is there a place within walking distance that we could BUY milk and keep in our fridge, or is upgrading to a premium room going to be worth the perk of having a milk carafe delivered to keep in the fridge??

Yes, their is a 7-11, just to the right of the parking lot, and a ABC store as well. They both have Milk, Juice, water, food, snacks.. beer, wine, etc.

We stayed there, and just loved it! The staff is a family, and they cannot do enough for you.
Hot coffee in the lobby in the mornings, even before our airport shuttle at 4am!!
Have a Blast!!:cheer2:

Great to know! We will be having an early-ish flight home, so late check out isn't important to us...hated to spend almost $200 extra (length of stay) for a premium room just to be able to have extra milk in the room haha! Sounds like a visit (or 2!) to 7-11 will be in order for us if within walking distance!

Would anyone happen to know the time the breakfast starts in the morning and white time the shuttle starts?

I am almost certain that breakfast starts at 6. I know the shuttle starts running before the park opens and I would guess that its based on park hours for the day. I would confirm with the front desk. You could always give them a call ahead of time! Enjoy youe stay. CCI is our favorite place to stay!

I returned a week ago from a trip to DLR and I stayed at the CCI in a premium room. I just have a few points to add.

1) The skim milk came in mini cartons, but the 2% and chocolate milk were in carafes.

2) There were no cheese cubes or hard boiled eggs offered when DH and I were there from July 3-11. It would've been great to have those items because the only real protein that was offered in the breakfast was the milk.

3) There was toast with butter and/or preserves offered on the menu during our stay, so using the toaster that's on-site may not be necessary.

OP, we chose to book a premium room primarily because of the late checkout time, in-room breakfast delivery, and the larger size of the rooms. If these things aren't important to you, I'm sure you'll be happy in a standard room. :thumbsup2

Wow, did they just change their offerings? We had both cheese and eggs from June 28 - July 1.

I have stayed at the CCI recently as well. The hard-boiled eggs and cheese are still an option. Maybe it was not on your check list that they provide for the premium room delivery. I have stayed at both the standard level and the premium. The premium was nice because of the larger room, we had 5 in our group. The standard worked just fine for a party of two, or when I am solo. I am the one that takes my tray from my room. :rolleyes1 :tink:

I took the tray up to the room, too--is this frowned upon? I kind of figured that's why the trays were in the room.

Don't think so.....we have also taken the trays back to our room with our breakfast. No issues.....:)
(as far as protein.....yogurt is still offered as well as peanut butter and oatmeal......)

If I recall correctly the breakfast runs 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM and the shuttle runs every 30 minutes starting 1/2 hour before park opening and ending 1 hour after park closing. There is one time in the evening where 1 shuttle run gets skipped so the driver can have dinner, I think it's at 8:30 PM. There's a sign next to the shuttle stop st the hotel that gives that info and the driver is always good about announcing the info during the ride.

Wow, this news is disappointing. When we checked in, the woman at the front desk said that we were welcome to join the others at the pool for breakfast, but she never said that the cheese and eggs were available exclusively by the pool. If we had known this, we would've grabbed some eggs and cheese cubes before leaving for the parks.

You're right, I completely forgot about the yogurt and oatmeal. We ordered yogurt on our first morning, but that was the only time we ordered it because it was too sweet, so that's probably why I forgot about it. We ordered oatmeal a few times, but we never had time to eat it so we took a few packs home.
