Ok I am donning my mask and flame suit but here goes. Am I the only one that wishes I hadn't paid the $ for the CP package? Our meal was wonderful and we sat 3 rows from the front. But, you knew there had to be one ;) I would have been just as happy to stand at the top right outside the rope and watch/listen. When the trumpets started blaring I thought I was going to lose my hearing. It was pretty but I would have been fine to stand and watch. We sat close and could see the people in the choir clearly but since I didn't know any of them, I don't think it was necessary. Just my opinion. :duck: The food at LeCellier was wonderful but just not a good value for the kids as they ate hotdogs at $4.99/child and we paid more than that for them with the package. It was nice to experience but we will never do the package again. We will eat at Le Cellier again as it has become our favorite. Live and learn I guess.

The way I figure it is....I have to eat anyway. We wanted to try LeCellier. I knew that what we would have ordered would equal what we would pay for the package. So, we had a fantastic meal, my dd ate what she normally does...not much. We could have gotten seats in the front, but I refused to. We sat at that first break, in the front row, behind where they put the wheelchairs. Too far front is too close IMHO. Would I pay for the pkg again? Yes. We all get to sit together, in decent seating area and we had one of the best meals we've had at WDW.

But, that being said...if I couldn't get a pkg then I would be happy just watching/listening from the back also. I just wouldn't miss it in any event!!

We will be having the package for the CP at LeCellier too. We enjoy LeCelliers and choose it over the other choices in the top category and hope we are not sorry. Can you tell me what they offered the children from the menu. It costs $11.99. I hope its not just hot dogs. We have done this before but never with the kids.

I have priced it out and its acually a good deal if you price everything seperate. A big big plus for us is not having to wait in the line as nearly as long. Some wait hours for a good seat for the CP.

Everyone has a different view and that is fine with me. We have enjoyed this before as a date for me and my DW. Will have to see how it works out taking the kids with us.

I'm glad to hear people say it would still have been good without the package. My husband and I are going next week without the package, and I worried about that decision. Glad to hear it should still be great!

I saw the CP 3 times last year (Yes, I really loved it)-once with package seating, the other two times without. I thought the seating without was MUCH better. With the package, I also ended up in the very first row-great for seeing the orchestra, but not for the Candlelight effect. However, it gave me the opportunity to try Rose and Crown, where I'd never eaten before. And for me, I figure I paid about what I would have just for a meal anyways. So I'd do the package again-for the convenience of the meal. But for the best seats, I'd go without the package.

My family loves CP, but we would never get value from the package as we are very small eaters, and could never finish a 3 course meal! With just a 30 minute wait we had perfectly good seats.

We are doing the package on 12/20. Can anyone who has done the package before tell me about the seating? From what I am reading it seems that for the full effect it is better to sit about half way back??? Is that right? Do they let you do that when they let the package people in? I mean will they let you pick where you want to sit? If they do let you pick, can anyone recommend the best spots to try for where we will have the best overall view?

Any help would be appreciated.

currycook,
Your children can order anything off the kid's menu. If they order the steak & dessert, that would have been $13 w/o tip. It can be a good deal. :) We love doing the CP package. We're in the group who would have eaten somewhere in WS anyway, so it's a great deal for us. We always dine at Les Chefs de France, prior to the CP, then our tradition is complete. ;)

The kids are $11.99 at LeCellier. My kids got the pasta and hotdog priced at $4.99 I believe. I tried to sway them to the small steak at $8.99 but it was a no go. That's fine, whatever makes them happy and fills them up. I believe the adult package was $46.99 wasn't it? I got the 7 ounce filet that was to die for and that was $27.99. The cheddar cheese soup was $4.99 or $5.99 I think. Then the dessert was I think $7.99. So for adults it was fine but just not for the kids. Maybe if we had sat half way up like some suggested I would have felt differently. I just didn't like sitting in the 3rd row and would have enjoyed it just the same from the back. Again just my opinion. We would have dined at LeCellier anyway and totally loved the restaurant this time as much as the last time. I love doing the Fantasmic package (Brown Derby) and we did Hoop De Doo Revue (loved it) this time and the Luau last time so it wasn't entirely the money aspect.......I guess I was just disappointed in the show that is all. The one person I totally enjoyed who did a terrific job was the lady who signed for the blind. She was very dramatic and exciting to watch.

No. I don't regret having done it, but I did see how unecessary it was to do. Much like yourself, I noticed that one could just as easily stand at the top of the theatre or even sit at the tables next to the American Adventure enterance and still hear the Processional. Especially because the Candlelight Processional is more of an audio experience than a visual one, you wouldn't miss out too much by standing or sitting outside of the theatre.

We had to eat at an odd time to get the package. We ate at Chefs de France, which we hadn't before. We weren't really hungry at the time of our PS, so we only ate half our entrees and split a dessert. We could have just as sooner eaten with a regular PS that was a convenient time to eat and stood outside the theatre.

Perhaps this info will encourage others who don't have the package to still stop by the theatre and take in what is a spectacular performance.

I just returned from WDW and we were at Epcot two nights during the CP. The stand-by line was *extremely* long, so we just grabbed some food at Yakitori House and found a bench to eat at and listen to the show. We peeked at few times at the stage to see what was going on, but we found just listening to it to be a nice experience without having to stand forever for a seat in the theater. Having seen what we did, we would not do the CP package either.

We did standby on Thursday night with Marlee Matlin. We thought the seats we got were better than the ones we had down front on the left side with the package on Monday night. We got in line about 7:30 for the 8:15 show. Sat in the center, close to the back. Even if the line is long you may still get in, the theater can hold 2,000 people I heard. I think next year we'll pass on the package.

That's why we did not do the CP package. We're two adults but we are very light eaters and we would not have gotten our moneys worth. We stood oustide of the theater and we saw and heard it just fine. :)
