Who has been? We have a will be 8 year old picky eater and a will be 12 who'll eat anything. We'd like to stick with the lower cost meal choice. Dinner before or after the show? If there are two shows, which do you suggest?

We went last year on Christmas Eve. There are a number of restaurants that you can chose from for the Candlelight processional package. I would look on Deb's website to see what menus appeal to your family. Though most restaurants serve basic kid fare. Deb's Willis website

They do 3 shows a night...we did the first ...while it was absolutely amazing...I would say to do it during the darkness would be even more amazing...I suggest if your kids are up to it eat early get in line for the 3rd show. Seating is first come first serve...we had seats near the front and really enjoyed them...

We ate at 5:15 and went to the 8:15 CP last year. I thought this worked out well for us.

We ate before the big "dinner rush" at Le Cellier (not on the cheapest choices though), so we walked up and were immediately seated. Our service was AWESOME! The meal choices were very good for us and our picky 8yo ds and our 12 yo ds who eats anything!

We had plenty of time to eat, we didn't have to deal with anyone being hungry during the show. Since the line forms (even for CP seating) quite early, we were able to leave our meal and walk over to get in line without feeling rushed.

Since you are interested in the cheapest meal possible, you will most likely be looking at Biergarten, Akershus and Garden Grill. You may want to look at the menus to see which fits into your needs.

All shows are free but you may have to que up 1 1/2 hour in advance to get seat.So if you wanted to do that you could eat dinner before or after show at any place you and family would enjoy.Candlelight Processional Dinner Packge if chose this option has 3 different price levels with different dining option offered in each price level.With dinner package you will get a great seat for the show you want to see and only need to que up 1/2 hour before show.If you're planning on dinner at Epcot that evening the dinner package is way to go.Last year DW and I got dinner package and dined at Teppanyaki at 4:30 and went to 6:15 show.Cost was around $88.00 which included tax and tip and we got a great seat for show.

We've done the package both ways - dinner first or show first. We prefer show first, that way we can relax and enjoy the dinner. Plus we stay at BWV so we take our leftovers back to the room and put them in the fridge for lunch the next day. We've done the package 3 times, each time at LeCellier. This year we may try something new, maybe Italy. We like the 6:45 show and 8:00 dinner. We go the first or second week of December, we go back later in the week and see the show standby with a different narrator. Usually the line isn't long on a Wednesday or Thursday night.

When we went I was perterbed because the shows hadn't been filling up, so we didn't buy the package, just were very early in line. So the show starts, and they let us in 20 minutes after it starts from the cue line. I'd definately recommend getting the package. The night we went it was the actor who plays Jumba, it was really neat.

Also, I'd recommend the earliest show that its dark for, (either first or middle, not last). What happened our night was the first show was rained out, so all those people could come to the later show and get priority seating.

What exactly is done during the Candlelight Processional?

It's a reading of the Christmas story. The celebrity narrator reads a passage, then the choir sings a song. It's about 45 minutes.

For those of you who have eaten before the show - do you think this will work for us (am I allowing enough time?)

My sister and I will be bringing our 7 yo nephew - we're thinking we could schedule the dinner package at Coral Reef (new for all of us and we want someplace we think he will really love to experience) at earliest seating (4:30?) - then go to 6:45 show - right after the show we'll hopefully catch the boat to BW/MGM to see Osborne lights while Fantasmic is running. It will be our only chance to see the Osborne lights in their new setting. We are not 'slow' eaters - my thinking is that if we can get the earliest PS we won't have to wait for a table - an hour and a half for dinner and 15 minutes to hoof it back to the show - still inline 1/2 hour before showtime = what do you think? (this will be Monday, 12/6 - hopefully a somewhat slow night).

The real challenge will be to get to MGM before they close ( am hoping they stay open until 8 - if it's only 7 we'll have to decide between Osborne lights and seeing CP after dark).

MGM usually closes at 7:00 in early December. Even though CP is better after dark, you could see the 5:00 show and then go to MGM. On a Monday night you should be able to get a standby seat. Osborne Lights usually starts at 6:00, you could see that and then go to Epcot and try for the 8:15.

Can someone please tell me how soon this can be booked with the dinner package? Is it the 90 days?

The packages usually go on sale in late August. They keep separate tables for the packages, they don't go by the 90 days. You have to pay at the time of booking. You can get a refund if you cancel before 48 hours.

Just a quick observation as to the wait in line....we ate at 5:45 at Garden Grill (terrific meal), left there about 6:45 and walked over to WS. We didn't walk quickly, just sort of ambled on over. Got there about 7 or so, maybe a little later. We checked out a few areas and as we made our way towards American Pavillion, noticed a huge line. Figured it was the stand-by line for CP as it was only about 7:20. At 7:30 I finally asked and was told that it was the CP dinner package line!!! People had been in that line already for 30-45 minutes!! So, we got in line also. We were finally let in at 7:55. Had seats in the middle of the theater about 1/2 way back. Very nice seats. I have to say that I wouldn't want to be way down in front, I think you miss some of the 'magic'.

Just wanted to let you all know that the wait is more than 30 minutes, or at least it can be!! However, we are planning on doing it all again this November!! It is incredibly beautiful.
