Do you guys think the cp dining package is needed with Chita Rivera as the narrerator? I am not sure what to do, Don't want to use two dining credits if its not necessary. thanks for any info.

I'd say "necessary" depends in large part on how crunched you feel for time--if you really want to see the Candlelight Processional, and you don't want to spend an hour or more waiting in line to be sure for the chance to see it, then get the package. If you're worried about value, perhaps consider booking somewhere like Biergarten for the earliest package and paying OOP. Also remember that Dec. 16-18 falls over a weekend, so it's likely to be more crowded than during the week.

I thought it was worth it the night I went, but we were on Deluxe Dining. It was also freezing the night we went. We had a relaxing dinner at Chefs de France, lingered in the shops a bit, then we got in the line, filed right into our seats and only had to sit and wait about 10-15 minutes in really good seats for the show to start. If I were traveling with the kiddo, I'd absolutely do the dining package again. I'd still do it again, and be willing to pay OOP even without a kid in tow.

About the only way to avoid waiting in line for a long time is to go with the dining package or be a celebrity with V.I.P. status. Those are the three options for any performance (long wait, dining package, V.I.P.). For most of us it's really only two.

I bought the package as a convenience; I did so much research and the week we're going (wk leading up to Christmas), I knew my time would be very vaulable...so I didn't want to waste 60-90 mins waiting in line to watch it. I would have done just that, had the dinner packages not been available, as we planned to do CP regardless.
It's really a matter of what's more valuable to you - your time or the credits.
