Christmas may be more than six months away, but Walt Disney World is already busy planning for the holidays.

Disney unveiled much of its lineup Wednesday for the Candlelight Processional at Epcot.

The annual show which tells the story of Christmas features choirs from around the country, a live orchestra and a celebrity narrator.

While the shows are included in park admission, Disney sells dinner packages which include reserved seating. Dinner packages go on sale in July.

Disney's lineup so far:

Mira Sorvino (“Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion”) Nov. 25-27
Michael W. Smith (Christian singer) Nov. 28-Dec. 1
Whoopi Goldberg (“The View”) Dec. 2-3
TBD Nov. 4-6
Isabella Rossellini (“Alias”) Dec. 7-9
Neil Patrick Harris (“How I Met Your Mother”) Dec. 10-12
TBD Dec. 13-14
TBD Dec. 16-18
Trace Adkins (country singer) Dec. 19-21
Susan Lucci (“All My Children”) Dec. 22-24
Blair Underwood (“The Event”) Dec. 25-27
Marlee Matlin (“Celebrity Apprentice”) Dec. 28-30

I'll be seeing the Neil Patrick Harris version.

Thanks for posting. If you've never seen the CP you are going to be in for a treat. I would love to be there for NPH. Last year we had Corbin Bernsen and he did an awesome job.

I will be there for NPH and am so excited!! However, our plan was to go the 14th. I may have to make some adjustments!

We went over to see NPH the last time he was there. The standby line was so long we couldn't get a seat. Ended up standing behind the seating area to see it.

Darn...our dates are still TBA! Well...unless we go see Whoopie on our arrival day..hhhm. I guess we'll wait and see who's doing it on the 6th.

Will be there the 9th through the 17th! Boy! Do I have some decisions to make. Any rumors on the TBA on 13th -18th. We have seen Whoopi that past 2 years.

We'll be seeing NPH again. He's not my favorite narrator, but he's good. I don't see Steven Curtis Chapman whom I would prefer.

Us too, Wendy! We've seen NPH before and love him anyway! DH is hoping for Edward James Olmos!

We enjoy the Candlelight Processional and attend every night we are there during the presentation. This year it will be thru 12/1.:thumbsup2

We will be there for the first time ever!!! Can someone give me a readers digest version of what happens in the Candlelight Processional??

Have never seen the CP and love Trace Adkins (I can only imagine that deep voice makes him an excellent narrator.) Looks like we'll be seeing the CP on 12/19.

I've gone to the CLP every year for the last few years and I really enjoy it. I'll be in WDW from 12/8-12/14 so I have a few choices. I saw Isabella Rossilini before, but not Neil Patrick Harris so I think I'll go during his dates..Unless the TBD narrarator is more interesting to me.
Of course the line up can change, a few times I was geared up to see one narrator but as it got closer to November, some of the names were switched around or some dropped out all together.

The Candlelight Processional is basically a collection of Christmas carols--sung roughly in order of the story of the Nativity, with "interspersed" spoken narration of the story of the birth of Jesus Christ. Lead singers are the Voices of Liberty from the American Pavillion. Back-up singing is provided by various choirs dressed in white, gold, and red choir gowns.

It's gorgeous--musically and visually.

It lasts just over 30-40 minutes.

I go every year (we do T-giving at WDW every year)...I own 3 of the CDs they sell of the music...they are among my favorite Christmas music, which I play constantly during the month of December in my decorated-to-the-max first floor of our home...

I could care less who narrates...to me, the joy of the CP is the music...it so "sets up" Christmas--my hands-down favorite time of the year. I also prefer sitting on one of the ledges in front of the American Pavillion over sitting in the amphitheatre itself...we've done the dinner package, and we've also gotten in via the stand-by line. But I like better being "on the outside", absorbing the music and the "far-view" sight of the chorale arrangement.

It's one of my most favorite WDW experiences.

I hope they never drop it. I still haven't recovered from Disney's elimination of Epcot's "lights of winter"--the spectacular light display on the bridge between Future World and World Showcase. My all-time favorite thing to do at WDW was to sit by the fountain, watch it dance, and watch the lights of winter on a Christmas season evening. I'm still sad that that experience is now gone...but I still have the CP and sure hope that never goes away...

We will be there the week after Thanksgiving and really want o experience this. Should we do the dinner package to insure getting a seat? Which restaurants normally participate?

This is last year's restaurants.

Price does NOT include gratuity, tax or lobster entree

Tier 1:
•Biergarten – Germany
•Garden Grill - The Land Dinner only

Tier 2:
•San Angel Inn – Mexico
•Nine Dragons Restaurant - China
•Rose and Crown - UK
•Restaurant Marrakesh – Morocco

Tier 3:
•Le Cellier Steakhouse - Canada

Depending on the day of the week, and the narrator, we have been able to get seating for the first show without a package. We do book a package to be sure, but we also have gone to see another early show without one.

What are the times for the shows? I want to make back-up dinner reservations just in case we can't (or decide not to) make package reservations.
