I've never been to the Candlelight Processional and I was wondering if it's worth it to do the dinner package. I was planning on eating at the Garden Grill anyway, but I figured I would get it in the package if we were going to do CP. Is it worth it to do that? I am guessing that it works like the Fantasmic! dinner package; go eat, get a ticket for special seating, don't have to wait in line, reserved seating, so on and so forth.

Any thoughts?

I have not done this before either but do have a CP booked for December for Teppanyaki....

I would like to hear the responses if it is actually worth it or not....

We do this every Dec trip. We dine at le Cellier. You pick your tickets up at your resort the day of your package. I'm not sure how much the tier the Garden Grill is on cost but I know we at the least break even with Le Cellier. If I can aviod standing in line I do so and we would eat at Le Cellier anyway.

You have a choice of 3 shows and you can eat before or after.

There is still a line. The package line enters first. Then the standby line enters about 10 minutes before the show, filling in the remaining seats.

You will get great meal and seat for CP and will save you standing in que for 90 minutes. We have CP package this year, dining at LeCellier and going to 6:45 show.::yes:: :wave2:

We did the CP dinner at Teppanyaki last year. We had great seats and did well price-wise at dinner. My only complaint is that we still had to wait over 45 minutes after our PS time to be seated for dinner-it got a little too late for my dd's. With little children I would recommend the first performance of the night.

I have done CP dinner package several times and have always felt it was worth the money. This year we are trying the Garden Grill. In the past we have done the Rose & Crown (2x), Le Cellier, and Biergarten (2x).

It's been a while since we got the CP dining package. So a question... what do I get?

SnowWitch mentioned they break even at Le Cellier. I was planning to get the strip or filet ($27). I'd need a salad ($6), soup ($5) and dessert (~$6) to get to $45. Do I get both the salad and soup?

Nope, you can only choose one appetizer with your meal - soup or salad, etc. But - don't forget - your $45 bill also includes the 15% gratuity for the server - so you make up for some of the price there. A non-alcoholic drink is also included, which is worth around $2.

We have done the CPP the last three years and just love it. We ate at Rose & Crown Pub in 2001 ,2002 & Chef de France last year. It is a great deal and you get great seats for the show, just make sure you get in line early to get a seat up front.

Soup or salad, not both.

Entree 27
Salad 6
Desert 6
Drink 2
Tip (15%) 6

Total $47

If we get a great server, I leave a couple extra bucks on the table.

Do you order off of the regular menu or is there a different menu (specific selections) for those dining with the CP package?

We always ate at Rose and Crown and it was off of the regular menu.

We have the package for Garden Grill at 5:40 and the 8:15 show on Christmas Eve. I thought you got your tickets at the park. Can you get them at the resort too? How does this work. Thanks.

In the past you picked them up at the park at Guest Services. But for the past few years you can also pick them up at the resort that you are staying at. We just gave our names and they print up the tickets and give you your CP badge to wear. Pretty painless.

Just a quick question for all of you experts... (thought that I would ask here instead of starting a whole new thread)...

We have never gone to the CP and have never eatten at any of the paticipating restaurants. I've gone through the list and have narrowed it down to either The Garden Grill, Le Cellier or Restaurant Marrakesh. We do have a 6 year old DD that would love the Garden Grill characters or the music & bellydancer at Marrakesh but I have seen such great reviews of Le Cellier (but it is the most $$$)... what do you all think? What would you pick?

Also, we are a party of 4... can only 2 of us do the package, but can we have a dinner PS for 4? TIA! :earsgirl:

IT depends on how picky your little one is. My 17 year old is very pick, so we are doing the Garden Grill. At most sit down restaurants, I wish she could eat off the kids menu because she always likes what is on it. She ususally can't find anything she likes on the adult menu. I wonder if I can pay the adult price, and she can eat off the kids menu. Hmmm, something to look into.

We always do the CP dinner package, and it is definitely worth it. At worst, you will most likely break even on the meal (unless you order the cheapest things on the menu) and you may even save a few bucks. We usually come out about $10 or so ahead at Le Cellier using the package versus menu prices. At Alfredo's I think we only broke even because they limited choices, but the meal was still a good value. Add to the meal value the fact that you are guaranteed a decent seat for an incredible show without a long wait in line and it's a no brainer. If you were planning on eating a meal in one of the participating restaurants anyway, I can't figure out why someone wouldn't do the package.

One more question... I remember that the seating passes gave us a discount on merchandise purchases at Epcot the day of our package... is that still included?

Just be aware, regarding LeCellier, that it is the hardest restaurant to get in to because of the small size. We are doing the CP package on 12/7 (Tuesday) and I called two months before and couldn't get any seating, for any show, on that day. Went for Chefs De France instead. Just a little heads up. Good luck.
