Candlelight Processional and CM Party Info!

I just spoke with a CM when making my PS reservations. She told me that the CM parties were scheduled for the 6th and 7th, but they have been movied to the 13th and 14th.

That definitely would make more sense considering it still is only showing the 13th and 14th with shortened hours!
But, yes, confirmation would be nice!

Also considering that the concept of "private parties" seemed a bit dated - does Disney really still do this???
CMP on the 13th/14th make a lot more sense and does validate the caveat to take any singular source of information with a grain of salt as we now have reports of 2 different cast members providing guests 2 different dates.

So now the question becomes....why were they changed??? If of course that's accurate. Heavier than expected crowds 6th/7th (I hope not) that prompted the change so they didn't shorten hours those days???

I bummed that the park is only open until 9:00 PM on 12/8 & 12/9. The same Wednesday & Thursday last year (which happened to be the first days after the CM party) the park was open until 11:00 PM I believe.

TDA is really messing with everyone this year!

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if Main Street is super crowded during the Candlelight Processional, or if the whole park is wall to wall people? I have my first holiday trip to Disneyland planned for December 2 - 5 (leaving the evening of the 5th) with my husband. I would like to see the CP, but honestly don't want to deal with my hubby whining about waiting around for that long. My mom wants to go next year during the holidays so I plan on seeing it then . So.... to make a long question short, should we be able to make our way around DL on the 4th and 5th, or should we just head over to DCA on the night of the CP? Thanks for your help! I love these boards

I don't have first hand knowledge, but have read a lot about it. My understanding is the Main Street is wall-to-wall bodies. There are conflicting opinions on the rest of the park and wait times. Some say because everybody is on Main Street wait times are low and the rest of the park not crowded, others say it's simply crowded everywhere.

If you want to avoid the CP, use the Monorail when entering and leaving DL. Mainstreet will be packed those days, people wait around forever. I like to use MM ,then clear out when it starts getting busy. We go to CAP, or dinner in DTD. After the Candleight Processional is over, DL clears out. We really felt like we had the whole park to ourselves.
Last year was pretty neat though, we were heading in the doors of the GC and John Voight was standing right there. He was real curtious as a couple of gals were smart enough to have their camera handy. We were only going in for a couple of hours to upgrade our passes, after a long day at Magic Mountain. It was the only time I did not take my camera, go figure. Boy he sure is a handsome older man.

Cast Party days are a past time favorite of mine. The park is mild crowd wise, but like Sherry said, the park has seemingly gotten busier over the last couple of years.
It used to be great, as soon as DL closed you would head over to CAP, and there was hardly a soul in site.
Last year, it was a little busier than in the past.
This year is anyone's guess with WOC and all.

The Disney Family Holiday Party, a private event for Cast Members and Employees of The Walt Disney Company and Affiliated Companies, will indeed be held at Disneyland Park on 13 and 14 December after normal operating hours.

As posted on Disneyland.com, Disneyland Park will be closing early that day.

FYI - There is also some sort of private party on November 18.
