It looks like last year, you could not make Candlelight Processional ADRs until well after the 180 day window opened, at least for early December dates.

Any thoughts on this? Should I make a reservation at the desired restaurant now, then change to Candlelight Processional reservation later?

That won't help you to secure your favorite restaurant for CP. They will have to cancel the ADR you make now, and make a new one for CP - they can't just convert it. So there is always the chance that your first choice could sell out before you can book the CP package.

If I remember correctly, it seems they held back a lot of availability at the more popular CP venues until they had everything ready to roll out with the CP packages. Seems like there were a lot of posts regarding no availability for regular ADR's at Le Cellier, and then once the packages came out, things loosened up a bit (at least for a day or two ;)).

Will these packages be available the week of 11/25-12/02
I really hope so.
Looking very forward for this, I have heard so many great reviews

I was on the phone today asking this very same question!

The CM told me that last year, you could not book until July 26th. He suggested that I go ahead and book the restaurant then change that booking to a CP booking when the dates are released.

Hmm, the CM I spoke to today said I could 'convert' it into a CP booking :confused3

Several years ago I booked my own ADR's and while I was not able to "convert" my ADR once the CP packages were released, I was able to get a new ADR. This year we are staying CL so I gave the concierge my preferred date and time and he will try to get it for me when the inventory is released. He did tell me that I should get and ADR now though.

The ADR I want is not available, LeCellier for lunch on Dec 1. Looks like all the popular ones are not available that day, LeCellier, Rose and Crown, Coral Reef. That is the only ADR I need for vacation. The rest I got no problem.

The CP is messing with my dinning plans the CM told me that all the dates are blocked till the confirm CP tickets

Yep, that's what I was told today as well. Looks like we'll all be trying for them when the CP packages go on sale. LOL

Unless they are making some changes to the policy, you are not allowed to make an ADR now, and then change it to a CP pkg when they come out. That wouldn't make sense. There would be no way that Disney could manage them. Certain shows have to have certain dining times. So, if you wanted to go to the middle show, and you booked an ADR now, but the timing of your ADR didn't match the set times for the middle show ADR bookings, you would be out of luck. It just doesn't work.
It's a crazy day when the CP pkgs are released....you can be on hold with Disney Dining for over an hour!!!!

Unless Disney has done some major changes, you can NOT book now and add a CP pkg. There are various reasons for this as mentioned. You still have time till the pkgs are available.Last year they went on sale July 26th.

when do they open up? June 26?

Mike, that's the rumor. But they also said that regular dining reservations for four of the most popular Epcot restaurants would open up June 26th.

Instead, they opened up Wednesday, June 20th.

Good luck.

I'm keeping a watch, too.

trying to grab a CP dinner for after thanksgiving as well, hope they open up soon

There is another thread that has a link to Disney Park's Blog that was updated and it states that the CP packages will be available on 6/26 at Disneyworld.com

UPDATE: Holidays Around the World Candlelight Dining packages will go on sale on Disneyworld.com on June 26.

But it doesn't say anything about restaurants and prices.
