Are Candlelight Procession package dining times tied to specific performance times?...or can you dine at your reserved time and attend whichever Candlelight Procession time you wish? What are this year's performance times, and the associated dining times if tied together. Thanks so much!

I know they have been tied to specific performance times as recently as last year. We ate lunch at Biergarten and our tickets for CP were only good for the 5:00 (or was it 5:30?) show.

This is the schedule from last year and is pretty consistent with all past years:

  • For the 5:00 pm show, Meals will be from 1:45 – 2:45 pm (lunch)
  • For the 6:45 pm show, Meals will be from 3:30 – 4:30 pm (dinner)
  • For the 8:15 pm show, Meals will be from 5:00 – 6:00 pm (dinner)

yes - the time of your meal will indicate which show you will attend. You always attend the show after the meal - not before. If you book lunch, you will be attending the first show.

Sorry to hijack this thread but has anybody booked candlelight lunch package for the coming thanksgiving weekend? At first those restaurants didnt even show for regular lunch at 180+ and now they don't show packages.

Inventory has not been opened for booking yet.

We had a 5:00 Reservation at Chef de France(very good) last Dec. for an 8:15 show. Don't be fooled as we were by the mild weather during the day...We were there Dec.9th, daytime was very nice, but we FROZE at night since the show is outdoors. BEAUTIFUL SHOW!:thumbsup2 :santa:Be prepared with heavier clothing! BOOK EARLY!:flower1:

Benches are aluminum. Heat sinks that you sit on.

We did lunch and our ticket was specific noted for first show. Since we had never been or knew what to expect I felt compelled to book a package. Since we were six it was going to be expensive (no discounts for TIW :sad2:) and so I booked Biergarten for lunch.

My thoughts -
- Since we had to do the early show it was daylight through much of it. I think that took away from the program.
- I'd rather do a later show but the price was too high.
- We didn't want to be front front rows (wanting to take in the whole stage) so we chose seats towards the back of reserved.
- Folks doing standby really had just as good a view as those reserved, they just had to stand in line.
- Probably would not spend that much again for it. Not like the stage is inside.
- Pretty but the real treat is the music so we could have sat on wall at American Pavilion and enjoyed it as well.

^

THAT is the very reason we will not do it again.

If you want to attempt to save money on the package, book an a la carte restaurant for lunch. Biergarten is the cheapest, but it's a buffet, and is priced above what the buffet would be priced without the package (for the same buffet). If you book someplace like Via Napoli you can work on getting an appetizer, entree, dessert and beverage to approximate or even exceed the fixed price you are paying for the package.

Thanks for your thoughts. This year will be our first time to even get to experience the CP and I'm considering Biergarten for lunch from a price perspetive. However, I've also read what you stated above from other posters. I'm very much on the fence on whether to reserve the package or not when they come out.

If you don't book a package on a day of someone like Neil Patrick Harris prepare to spend half your day in line. I've never seen anything like it. We had a dinner package, got in line a half hour early (which was all the way down to Morocco/France), the standby line was nearing China even though there were several areas where it wrapped. We ended up seated 3/4ths of the way back. Not sure how many stand by people actually got in to that show.
