First, it is customary for CP dinner packages to go on sale around July 1.
Next, this year is going to be peculiar. We are all hoping the basic DP will get you a CP dinner package, but there's no news right now on this being verified by Disney. There's a difference, now. The dinner package has always included appetizer (except for buffet places) but the basic DP does not, now. So, Disney may say no to the CP package all together or they may say yes w/o appetizer. They may restrict the tier level, too.
I called Disney a week ago and a dining cast member tried guest relations for some answers. The response was to try again and ask after June 15, but there was no guarantee that answers would be known then, either.
For many of us the clock is ticking with ressies on our 180 day mark. I will be past my mark if I wait until July 1. I'll be making two sets of ressies. I will do regular dinner resrvations on my 180 day mark and then I'll try for CP package later. I will cancel my other ressies once I secure the CP package, if available.
This has become a little uncertian and it's frustrating playing the waiting game. So, please join the rest of us in line.
