Let me get this right...I can make dinner reservations at the available restaurants and then they give us a "ticket" to get into the reading of The Christmas Story, and then we have special seating to watch illuminations which is in a seperate place then where the story is read? Also, because it asks for a credit card does that mean its not included in the DDP and we'd pay OOP? Also, I would assume the times given are allowing enough time to eat and then get to the reading and illuminations?
Thank you!!

There's no "seating" for Illuminations. They rope off an area for package guests to watch it, but no chairs. And yes, the Illuminations viewing area is generally across the lagoon from the America Gardens Theater where the Candlelight Processional takes place.

You can get a Candlelight package on DDP. However, all Candlelight packages (no matter which restaurant, and whether the meal is lunch or dinner) are 2 credits per person. You'll still have to give a credit card. That is to guarantee that you won't just skip the reservation without canceling. There is a no-show fee per person.

We did the CP package a fees years ago and after seeing the viewing area chose to find another area to watch Illuminations.

Agreed. Last year we decided just to watch Illuminations from wherever we were when they started. While there are some great vantage points for Illuminations, we enjoy it from almost anywhere around World Showcase and even beyond. We prefer being back from the rail to being pressed into it. We do the package primarily for the prefered seating for CP.

I did the CP with the dinning credits and no credit card was required. The credit card requirement are for those who are not staying at the resorts.

If you booked before the new CC guarantee took effect (Oct. 26th I think) then no, you didn't need one. Now you do.

I personally booked the CP before the CC guarantee & didn't need one. Then I changed it earlier this week and need a CC to book.

We needed a CC to book when we booked back in July, but we're not on a dining plan. They won't actually charge the card until you don't show up (if you do show up, I think you can pay with any acceptable form of payment--for instance a different CC or a gift card).
