Thanks Captain Hook-ed On Disney pirate: pirate: pirate:

Candlelight Processional is what brings me back every December.
I prefer the 8:15 show with dinner around five thirty or six.
It has gotten more expensive however....
Give it a try.
:cheer2:

I LOVE the Candlelight Processional!!! This is the firsrt year I will be doing the package, and I am really excited for it. I figure, we will eat before the show anyway, so might as well get preferred seating with it :cool1:

The Candlelight Processional itself is free and included in the cost of your ticket to Epcot for the day. The dinner packages are 3 different prices for 3 different levels.

We always get the dinner package. You will get in ahead of the people in the standby line and have better seats. I feel like we would be eating anyway, so why not get the package?

here's a link to all the info you need...

We are doing the dinner package this year. The ONLY date we can see CP is 11/24...the first night. I'm not taking any chances. Yes, it is going to be expensive for the 5 of us, but this IS vacation!

How far in advance of show time do you need to line up with the dinner package?

The first time we did CP, we just walked by this long line at about 7:30. I said to my dd that those poor people had to wait in that line since they hadn't gotten the dinner package. Then, about 15 minutes later, I asked a CM where the line for those holding passes through the dinner package was. She pointed the previously mentioned line out to me!!! Stupid me!!! So, we headed to the back of this line...it was huge by the time we got there at about 7:50, for the 8:15 show.
So, the next time we went we got there about 40 mins beforehand. Got in about 7:50. They open the seating to those without the package passes at about 8:10 or so, if I remember correctly.
Just because you have the dining package does not mean you won't be standing in a line!!

Last year,I was in the first row of general seating for one of harry Hamlin's performances. That was the third row from the end!! I can't tell you how many complaints I heard from the people sitting in the row in front of me about the lousy seats they got and how they should have been up front. Mind you, this is from people who strolled in about 10 minutes before the show started.

If I line up at 7:30 for the 8:15 show will I have close seats to the front?

Thanks for all your input!! :worship:

We go each and every year, 3 or 4 times. We've never gotten the dinner package and have always gotten into every show we wanted. Including Christmas Eve in 2005.

With the package, you have reserved seating, but the seats may or may not be better than standby. Remember - just by virtue of the numbers involved, a few hundred people will be in the last or next to last row of reserved seating on the far left or far right of the theater.

We queued for 40 minutes in standby and were dead center one row behind reserved for two shows last year. Standby is loaded very quickly after reserved and you'll be seated about 15 to 20 minutes before showtime.

Not in the least am I knocking the package - just offering the observation that it's not mandatory.

I'm one of those people that doesn't like to be up front! I actually like to sit in the first row of the second tier. If you get too close to the front, you don't get the full effect. At least that's my opinion.
But, if you are there for 7:30, in line, you should be able to get the seats you want, or at least pretty close to the ones you want!

There is no seperate cost for the Processional. As others have posted, it is included with your admission to Epcot. The advantage to making a dinner reservation for the Processional is that you are sure to get a seat for the performance, and you do not have to wait in line nearly as long. Many of those waiting in line without a reservation will not be admited, as theater seating is limited.

As to the time: If you have young children, I would recommend seeing the earliest performance as children tend to get restless during the Processional, which is not geared to the usual Disney entertainment style. If your party is all adults, I would recommend that you attend the latest performance as it is more impressive after dark, and it's less likely that a child will be screaming during the performance.

Enjoy.

We love the Candlelight Processional and always get the dinner package, our favorite place to eat is Canada. It is a very nice evening and worth doing, even if you don't do a dinner package
