DH and I are looking for an all inclusive resort in Cancun or similar place/warm water. Doesn't have to be Mexico as I am open to other places This would be for our 40th bdays in the fall!!

Can anyone offer suggestions??

Dreams Resorts are awesome! They are all over Mexico, and they are beautiful. Secrets is very expensive, but no children. The Palace resorts are very nice!

Check out the Sandals Resorts-- they are adult couples only and in some really nice locations.

I'm going here in a couple weeks: http://www.iberostar.com/EN/Puerto-Plata-hotels/Iberostar-Costa-Dorada_3_62.html

It's in the Dominican Republic, and it wasn't that expensive either. I'll let you know all about it when I get back :) I think we are paying about $600 per person for 5 days, which I think is a pretty decent price for a 5 star all inclusive. It includes the airfare, as well. So it's not Cancun, but it's just as warm. And it looks amazing. Our travel agent recommended it for us.

I strongly recommend the Excellence Playa Mujeres Resort.... My husband and I spent 6 glorious days here last July and we could not say enough good things. It’s an all inclusive and has 6 different restaurants with 5 of them open every day. The pools were AMAZING, the beach was BEAUTIFUL and our room was PERFECT... We had a room on the ground floor facing one of the pools... We would simply walk out our "porch" door and jump in the pools each morning. PM me if you'd like to see pics… I can’t wait to go back in October!

My sister and I stayed at the Riu palace in Aruba in April. Wonderful place, all inclusive. Not cheap but the staff were some of the best I've ever encountered. 7 nights with air from Miami for 2 people was about $4200 but really all you can eat and drink and that included 2 excursions for the 2 of us and trip insurance.

My dd and I were supposed to go to Sun Village in Dominican Republic in April but silly girl slammed into a window in a hotel room 2 days before we were to leave. Sliced open her shins on the sharp marble window sill. Just lucky she didn't end up on the pavement 3 floors below. Please don't ask why a 12yo was tumbling on the bed. Didn't want to be out of country if her legs became infected, and no water fun anyway with stitches. So rescheduled for Sept over Labor Day. I got 7 nights with air from Miami for a little over $1200 for 2 people all inclusive, includes trip insurance (I never had it before but some reason got it this time (sis paid for Aruba and got it). Whew! Saved me for sure).

I highly recommend Cheap Caribbean. I've found the best deals through them even if you go elsewhere. Never found a better price. Professional and friendly. No I don't work for them, but I should. Maybe I could get a discount:rotfl:

Anyway hope you find something.

I would check out the Palace Resorts.

I think there's about 5 of them in Cancun... they are all inclusive.. and you can travel between all of them and eat at the restaurants, swim at pools and beaches.

We stayed at the Moon Palace. It was honestly beautiful. The beach wasn't the best but the rest of the hotel made up for it. Beautiful buildings, large rooms with hot tubs IN them, balconies with hammocks, the biggest showers I've ever seen, great food all day long, golf, tennis, basketball, etc. And a spa! They also have trips you can go on, which are included in the price. We did a snorkeling trip, a pirate cruise and swimming with dolphins at Wet N' Wild. It was a great trip! I can't recommend it enough!!

Oh yeah. i forgot about that. We stayed at the Moon Palace 6 years ago. I agree it was wonderful. Oh man, I miss traveling.

Check out applevacations.com and click on their special button. My parents just got a 5 star, all inclusive for $599 for 7 nights which includes airfare!

Prices are awesome with the swine flu issue that has killed the tourism down there.

My cousin got married at Sandals! It's an amazing place!

thanks everyone...i have been on all the sites you listed and found lots of places....now to just make the decision!!

I stayed at this exact resort when we went to the Dominican Republic in 2006. It is beautiful and VERY clean! We went in April and it rained for 3 days.We still had fun, but I went for the beach NOT the rain!

DH and I stayed at the RIU Cancan and the RIU Palace in Riviera Maya- loved both of them!

DH is looking into Hotel Riu Guanacaste in Costa Rica for this winter.

We like the RIUs:rotfl2: Can you tell?

We are looking to go to Cancun with our kids, age 10 and 7...anyone have any recommendations? We want all inclusive

My SIL stayed at the Great Parnassus in Cancun (do not confuse with Grand). She does not have kids, but she said the place seemed very child friendly.

I agree with other posters and would recommend the Moon Palace. This is a beautiful resort! Again, as others have said, it doesn't have the best beach, but it is still nice. The rooms are awesome. This is an all inclusive resort and day trips and such are included. We took a day excursion to Chichen Itza and didn't pay a cent. It was great!
