I was just wondering do you know any one with cancer?? If so how are they doing??

I know 2 people with cancer... one of them is only 7 years old and she only has 9 more weeks left untill shes out of remission then she has to go in at the end of May or beginning of June and get her last spinal tap just to make sure her cancer is gone completely!!

Now then other one is in the 7th grade he has had cancer for 3 years now and hes been in remission once already and this past December his cancer came back only 1 week before Christmas. They thought he wouldnt be able to come home for Christmas which they were right. On Christmas his family went to see him and they each got to open 1 gift! But they didnt open any more gifts until he got home from the hospital. Hes been back and forth from the hospital to home and back to the hospital again because he was getting a high fever and ect. Then today his brother found out he is back in remission and he has 5 years in that until his cancer is fully gone.

A friend of mine's brother had it - thankfully he is now cancer free. My grandmas "gentleman" friend has it - but it doesn't really do anything to him thankfully. It's this real slow moving kind. And my friend's mother has it - she is in therapy and stuff like that right now...

All in all thankfully they are all doing okay...

My aunt had breast cancer and my uncle had skin cancer. They're both fine, and neither had to undergo chemo

I had it. I had bone cancer and had to have chemo and a knee replacement. I've been cancer-free for nearly 2 years now, thank the Lord. It's really made me realize that life is so precious and important.

ETA: And before I got sick, I only knew of a few people from school who had cancer. No one in my family ever had it.

My Aunt had stage one breast cancer. She is now cancer free
A family friend has stage 3 breast cancer
I dont know her personally but Sonya(imabrat) had bone cancer.

There was a little boy in my town, Jabin. Cutest little boy year old you'd ever seen.

He had some tumors on the left side of his brain and two on his spinal cord.

Unfortunately he didn't make it.. since this is such a small town.. the entire place pretty much went into a depression.

I just found his old caringbridge.com page that his mom kept up with, while he was going through everything.. and I just saw she still writes on it.

Oh yeah.. when I was in abour 3rd grade I think? There was a kid a year younger than me that also died of brain cancer. His grandma was my teacher.. I just remember her missing months of school to be with him at St. Judes.

hope this isn't considered inappropriate,
thats the dis-friendly-ish version of this pic!
(they have bracelets for a website called stupidcancer.com)

my grampa had skin cancer in his ear, he got his left ear removed because of it. it came back twice but now he's rid of it. :thumbsup2 i've done relay for life 4 years now, and 2/4 of those years he walked to survivors lap :cloud9:
my moms aunt is also a breast cancer survivor.
and of course my brave soldier sonya

my grandpa has colon cancer. i havent talked to him in a while, but i hope hes done fine. its really hard on me.

a 6th grader in my school district died from cancer today.

RIP kyle <3

I had a friend who died from cancer in the summer of 2009.

We had the best summer ever in 2005

my great aunt (i think? i might have gotten the relationship wrong) died of cancer.

a friend from high school has it, but i think he's doing well. its not the worst kind ever, and it has almost a 100% recovery (is that the right word?)

and a little boy from my hometown has a very bad kind, that most people don't live through. i only know that because they have a lot of local fund raisers for his parents.

My grandma died of stomach cancer and my grandpa died of lung cancer. My dad also has cancer, but I'm not really in contact with him so I'm not sure how it is.

And Sonya from the DIS.

My friends mom had Breast Cancer, she unforuntaly passed last year.
A girl I know, her mom passed away last year from Brain and/or Breast Cancer.

I think I've had family members with Cancer, but it was either on my dad's side (who I barely know/knew) or my Mom's aunts.

My grandma had skin cancer, I had leukemia, my mom had breast cancer, and I relapsed.

Yeah, bad luck here. :c Plus, there is a lot of people (older than me) in my tow that have or have had it.

My grandpa has a reoccuring cancer, I can't remember what type it is. He's doing fine right now and I believe he is still cancer free. He finished up treatments a few months ago.

I believe my great grandpa died from lung cancer.

A little 8 year old girl died from cancer when I was in 6th grade. She was the daughter of one of my teachers. =(

I don't know of anybody from school who has cancer or anyone else that I can think of, thank goodness.

I know a few people who have had cancer, parents.

I'm very sorry for those who are dealing with cancer or who are close to people who are dealing with cancer.

my friend's older sister had cancer twice when we were little (like we were maybe 6?)
my grandfather died from lung cancer (ironically, he was an oncologist, cancer doctor) in 2000.
my grandmother died from lung cancer in ...?
my step grandmother has had breast cancer twice.
my aunt had breast cancer twice, the second time it spread quickly to her brain and she died 3 years ago (ilu<3).
my best friend had non-hotkins (sp?) lymphoma 4 years ago.
my mom had breast cancer 4 years ago at the same time as my best friend.
yah....

My grandfather had lymphoma I believe.
He survived, however his smoking prompted several heart attacks about ten years ago, and he died after receiving surgery.

Other than that, there have people I've known indirectly, like a girl with red hair who was in my grade. I never spoke to her, I knew her name and face. She died of brain cancer about three months ago.
And a grade nine teacher died of breast cancer about a year ago, however she never taught me. She taught many of my friends, probably my brother and I think she knew my mother.
