Cancelling trip / banked points question

I used banked points from September 2019 UY to book (in part) our vacation for next month. We sadly plan to cancel our trip due to covid and we've been told by MS that we would have until August 31, 2021 to use those banked points. It's not likely we'll be able to travel before August 2021. For anyone that's cancelled a reservation (during covid) that includes banked 2019 UY points, were you given any options by MS other than use them or lose them by a certain date? I understand that DVC has generously allowed the 'unborrowing' of points, but have you heard of any accommodations as it relates to banked points? Thank you in advance.

The only banked 2019 points that have been given any consideration is Aulani points with a Feb UY.

They announced yesterday that owners at that resort...and only that resort,,,will be given until Feb 28th, 2021 to use any banked 2018 UY points as well as those Feb 2019 UY points.

I expect we may see something like that for owners of VGC once that is announced open.

All other resorts deadlines remain the same and don’t anticipate any change unless we see another shut down...because owners have options for the points.

One other option will be to deposit to RCI if you definitely can’t go.
