Cancelling Tickets Question

I'm supposed to go on a trip to the world in November. I've linked 4 tickets together for FP+ and made reservations.

2 people may not be able to attend because of work, if that is the case, can I only cancel 2 of the tickets for FP+? Are Disney tickets refundable?

Did you book a package? If you did, then you can do a change to the package to remove the two people who are no longer traveling and their tickets will be removed from the reservation. You will pay a package change fee because you are inside the 45-day window, but the fee is less than the cost of tickets.

If you purchased the tickets separately from your room reservation, then you're out of luck. Tickets purchased from Disney are non-refundable. Some ticket sellers, like UT, will refund you for unused tickets (minus a restocking fee) but only if they have not been added to MDE.

can the other people go another time that maybe your best bet if they can go soon like within a few months but as others have said you are out of luck or going to pay a fee

Unused tickets are transferable, so you could sell them or use them yourself later.

You can cancel just the two peoples FP+ if you want.

The Disney FAQ says that you can transfer a ticket linked to your MDE account to another person in your family and friends group. I have not tried this personally, though.
I have done it! It's very easy to do but can only be done if the ticket is unused.

Thanks for confirming. I had looked into this because I'm buying a ticket for my niece who I hope can join us, but wondered what my options are for the ticket if she can't make it.

You can definitely transfer tickets that are linked in MDE, I've done it several times. You just click the link to "reassign ticket".

A couple of caveats- you can only do this with tickets that have not yet been used. And if the person the ticket is assigned to has thier own MDE account, you will have to be logged in as them to transfer it. I couldn't even transfer a ticket from DH that I had assigned to him from my account originally, I had to log in as him to transfer it back to me.
