Cancelling Southwest Flight Booked on Points?

We have 5 flights booked on points. A few were booked under the kids names but using points from my husband's Southwest account. For one flight we transferred points into that child's account from the other two kids so he would have enough points. If we cancel these flights, what happens to the points? Do they go into each person's individual account or back to where they originally came from? We may want to rebook for a different date but the points are higher so I need to figure out if we have enough points to cover new flights. Thanks!

We did the same thing awhile back. The points get deposited back into the account the were deducted from regardless of the name on the ticket. I booked three tickets from my account for myself, my husband and one of my daughters since the two of them didn't have enough points and when I canceled all of the points went back in my account. Hope that helps!

This.

If we ever question that we will have to make a change to a flight, and we have enough SWA points to book initially, we use points. Back into the original accounts, no flight credits that have to be used within 12 mod of booking, and no change fees. Very, very easy. :thumbsup2
