Cancelling Room/Tickets Package Question

Hi all,

DH and I are currently in the process of buying DVC through resale. We're set to close on Wednesday, but it will still be a few weeks until we are able to make any room reservations. We have a cash room & tickets package booked already for our trip in September which we will have to cancel. My question is, if we cancel that package will our FP+ reservations also be cancelled? Is there a way to cancel the room reservation and link the tickets with the FP+ reservations to our DVC room reservation? I was also thinking we could just buy our tickets separately before our 60 day window opens on 7/10, but without it being linked to a room reservation I'm now thinking we wouldn't be able to book our FP+ until the 30 day window.

We're really hoping to have our DVC member ID by the time our 60 day window opens but we're trying to prepare ourselves if that doesn't happen.

You should probably check the FP subforum of the theme park forum. My understanding is that you need tickets links, or the fastpasses will be cancelled. If the room reservation is cancelled, the FP+ will be locked until you either book another room or reach 30 days, but they won't be cancelled. Also, you won't be able to cancel just the room, so you'll need separate tickets before you cancel.

Thank you!! I did post on the theme parks forum also and got pretty much the same response as what you thought. We will have to book a room only reservation and then purchase tickets separately which will need to be linked to the room only reservation to make our FP+ at 60 days. Once we cancel the room only reservation we will be able to link the tickets and FP+ to our DVC room reservation
