I have two rooms booked through Priceline at the Wyndham Palace for four nights. Our trip is next Thurs. My dad, 76 yr. old, has taken a turn for the worst and although he is not hospitalized as of this moment, I am becoming extremely nervous that he doesn't have much time left. I have been on edge and fear something terrible will happen either right before we leave or while we are away. I have been holding out and still plan to make this trip right up until the last second, but if he doesn't make it and I do have to cancel this trip, does any know if there is anything I can do about this hotel reservation? Would I need to contact Priceline directly or the hotel? Will I have to totally lose the money or will they allow me to rebook a different date? Not sure what to do at this point? Please send Pixie Dust!!!

PL doesn't have to anything. Others have posted PL either refunding everything but their processing fee or refunding everything BUT $25/night/room charge. YMMV. Be nice, polite but be persistant in escalating up to someone who MIGHT help.

YMMV? What does this stand for?

Would I be contacting PL directly? I got two rooms for $63 per night each, my total was $579 for four nights.

I hope we won't have to cancel the trip, but in my heart, I know it's just a matter of time before the worst will happen with my dad, so there is a chance we won't be going. We've got five days until we leave. I just want to find out before we're scheduled to leave whether or not there is a chance I would be able to cancel and not lose all our money on the hotel, should I need to cancel. I believe we would be able to cancel our flights for airline credit.

Anyone else ever been in a situation like this one?

YMMV- Your Mileage May Vary!

You do need to contact Priceline directly and I hate to say this, but from what I have seen they are NOT always very sympatheic.

Some people have contacted a moderator on this board and gotten permission to "re-sell" the reservation. You can call the WYndam and see if they would change the name.

For the airline have ALL the info availalbe. They may want the doctor name and hosptial name (if he is in a hospital). People have taken advantage of them in the past so now they sometimes check!

Sorry about your Dad.
