Cancelling Place Holder-- contact travel agent or DCL?

We sailed on the Disney Magic out of Galveston in November 2025 and booked a placeholder before disembarking. Our cruise had been booked with our travel agent from Small World, whom we've used for the three Disney cruises we've taken, and I know the placeholder was automatically reserved with her.

We've ultimately decided as a family that we will not be using the placeholder on another Disney cruise after the summer 2027 itineraries were recently released. We're opting to do an all-inclusive in Mexico for our trip at that time.

Who would I contact to cancel the placeholder? Would I send the email to my travel agent at Small World, since I had received an email confirmation of the placeholder after we returned from vacation? I don't want to bother her with it if I need to contact DCL directly, as we haven't booked a cruise with that placeholder.

I know we have 24 months from date of booking to use it, so I can always just have it sit out there until it expires for automatic refund. I really feel like we're just "over" cruising Disney at this point. My daughters are tweens and we dislike the new style ships (we sailed the Treasure and did not like the ship layout at all, my girls hated the pools and how crowded it felt). I just think it's better to cancel the placeholder altogether.

If you can afford to keep it, I would. It will automatically refund after 24 of not being used. Sometimes plans change and it would be a bummer not to have it if you decided in a year to do another.
