I have a 6 day reservation at BW in November. I may have to cancel the first day of the stay. Will MS be able to modify my existing reservation, or will they have to cancel that reservation and rebook it? I have a GV and I'm not willing to risk losing it in the time it takes to cancel and rebook.

Thanks for your help!

No, they won't cancel and rebook the whole res., they will just drop off the day you don't need! I did it myself, for my June stay!

I a 3 night reservation book at BLT for early December. I had to drop the first night to add some days to my August trip and it was no problem. They just adjusted the existing reservation for me without any cancellation needed.

Good luck!!!

Wow, that was a fast response. Thank you! I thought that was the answer, but didn't want to assume so and lose the rest of the reservation.

Sorry to hijack your thread but I was curious. I have a 2BR lockoff reservation but part fo the group may leave 2 days early. when I know for sure can I go to a 1 BR for the last 2 days and not have to change rooms?

No, I don't believe they will guarantee that you won't have to move. It would have to be booked as two separate reservations which would trigger a check in and out.

And, I believe, you would still have to make the change at least 31 days in advance in order to put those points back without restrictions.

If there is a 1 bedroom available when you know for sure they are going to leave (provided it is 31 days before check in), you can add the 1 bedroom and drop nights from the 2 bedroom. Whether or not you can stay in the same room depends on the resort. We have done something similar at OKW, and they will tell you that you DO need to check in again, but if you request to stay in the same 1 bedroom portion, they will try to accommodate you, as long as you make that request at check-in. We have done it several times at OKW without trouble.

The problem is if you want to change less than 31 days out....Then those points go into holding, and there would be little chance of available rooms either.
