Cancelling one adult query

It's looking increasingly likely that DP won't be coming with us in January. We leave in 34 days. Does anyone know whether VH will penalise us for removing DP from the booking or whether we will get any money back as it will only be 1 adult and 1 child travelling now.

You would have to contact Virgin but you will be charged a minimum £30 for a booking amendment, not sure of the overally policy regarding this though.

I think it will depend on the circumstances and if your insurance will cover the reason why you DP can not go.

You don't say what you've booked with VH but probably the child would be charged a child price for the flight but would then be charged an adult price for any rooms (as they are sold on minimum of 2 adults sharing) so theoretically you should be refunded one adult flight price and any child room price you were charged. They will make an amendment fee though.

edited to add: you will have lost the adult deposit you paid and any cancellation charge that kicks in at 35 days or less!

Thanks for that - we've booked flights + PE upgrades, 2 x Disney resorts and our 21 day ultimate tickets with VH. We don't have their insurance.

I did guess that DS would be made adult status for the sake of the rooms.

Guess I'll call the tomorrow and find out for definite, but its good to have an idea first.

Hi, the VH brochure say that there is a 50% cancellation charge (15-28 days before departure).

Let us know how you got on. I think I remember your pre-trip report with all the re-arranging to get DP booked with you and DS. Hope it all works out and you have a great time.
