We made reservations for tonight and now want to cancel. The credit card I used to make the reservations was changed and the numbers are not the same. Can Disney still somehow charge us a cancellation fee?

If the card is no longer valid that you used to hold the reservation then they will not be able to charge you.

Thanks for the quick reply! The numbers are not valid, as the account was co.promised and we were sent a new card with new numbers. So I guess we are off the hook?

Wouldn't they charge it to the room? (Assuming staying on site?)

We are at the Dolphin. Our hotel is not connected to any of our reservations.

Asked a credit card friend, he said it should come through as a forced transaction, but really it's up to the bank. It depends on who your bank is, but there is a strong likelihood that the charge will come to your new card.

How does that work when the numbers have been changed due to security breaches?

Same credit card issuer? They have your old and new number. Charges to the old number aren't automatically declined. They can be marked as fraud or, at the bank's discretion, moved to the new number.

How does that work when the numbers have been changed due to security breaches?

From what I understand via friends in the banking industry, how that works is the bank contacts you to ask if you made/authorized this charge. If you say yes, then the charge will be put on the new card. If you say no, then it becomes a moral issue.
