It should have told you when you booked about the no show fee. Sometimes they don't charge them, sometimes they do. It's something each manager does location by location. It's not automated. But it does happen more often than it doesn't. It's to discourage hoarding of ADR, which is a major problem.
You can almost always modify a reservation to another day and then cancel.
You only need to move it out a day or two.
It's actually easier to book an ADR a day or two in advance than it is 60 days in advance. Check them sometime
People hoard ADR and then drop them like flies when their dates get close and they finalize plans. ADR become plentiful when you go to check for the next day. We never book ours till that next day for that reason and guess what, I find almost every single restaurant at Disney is available
First, try to cancel. If it's before the clock turns midnight most of the time it will let you cancel. It's not a true 24 hours before the ADR begins. Just before that day. If you can't, then search at any time, and for any number, starting a day or two out. Pick anything you find and change it. Then cancel
If you can't find something then go by your resort and they can usually handle it for you, or call. Calling can take a while though.
I have all the reservations I want. I have no intention to change any or miss them. But honestly I'm from a cold climate and I'm afraid when we get there food may not be something we can do some days without our tummies hating us.
So my question is if we do have to cancel I have heard it's $10 a person for no show. Makes sense. Do I have to go in and modify the reservation down to one person first so that I only get charged the $10 once? Or is it just going to be a $10 no show charge no matter what? Thanks
