Cancelling Credit Card used to guarantee ADRs?

So I received a letter from Amex today, telling me they're going to start charging me an annual fee on my card.
As I rarely use it I want to cancel it, but I used it to guarantee my ADRs - will this cause any problems?
I don't want to lose the ADRs I've made from no longer having a valid card attached to them...

I seem to remember having to use the Amex in the first place because our MasterCard said it was invalid (which it isn't). Has anyone else had this problem? Is it a UK thing?

Huh. So apparently the peeps at Disney Dining have no way to change the card number that is on file, but they said it won't be a problem if I cancel the card. They just wouldn't be able to charge me if I was a no show (although I'm certainly not planning to be!) - does this sound right?

Hmmmm....I have no idea, but I would probably call and get confirmation from a second CM....they vary so much in their knowledge.

Theoretically though, they would technically not know that your card is invalid until they went to charge it if you were a no-show. As long as you make sure that doesn't happen, I would imagine it would never even be discovered.

So conversation number two was the same - would have to cancel and rebook to change the card (but I ain't doing that and losing my Be Our Guest ressie!) but again I'm told there'll be no impact on my ressies. Same applies if your card will expire before you arrive...
