Cancelling ADRs while at WDW?

We will be traveling to the World in a few weeks with our 7-month-old. We certainly anticipate needing to cancel a few ADRs due to meltdowns -- what is the best way to do so while we are actually in the World? Thanks in advance!

I cancelled 2 on our last trip and I called Disney dining as soon as I knew we were not going to be able to make it. I hope that it cleared in their system and allowed a walk up a table. My little one was 17 months at the time and we just couldn't do a couple. This year I made it a point to get all of my resies for his normal dinner time. I think that will help alot.

In the past we also have had to cancel, If we knew we were going to cancel and was going to be by where we were going to eat I would cancel it there if not there I would use cell phone and call the WDW-DINE number and cancel or the room phone. I know others would love for you to call and cancel when you can't make it with free dining going on. I am sure there will be alot of walk ups or last minute booking ressies. Hope you have a Magical Trip.pixiedust:

We did the exact same thing this past June...DH actually programmed the WDW-Dine phone number into his cell phone before we left. As soon as we knew we weren't going to make one of our ADR's he would call and cancel. On the other side of things....we were 'stuck' in Mexico one night because of a storm, he called the number and was able to get a reservation there for 15 minutes after we called. (probably because some kind person called and canceled their reservation.:))
:goodvibes

We used our cell phone (# was preprogrammed from making adrs), used the room phone and had the concierge cancel some for us. We had way too many but weren't sure what we wanted to keep until the day prior.

I used the concierge at the hotel to cancel ours. Our 2yo just could not handle anything else, so I'm certain the diners at Boma were very happy we didn't attempt dinner that night. :rotfl2:

I cancelled a bunch last year. We were on deluxe dining and I was foolish enough to plan 3 meals per day :lmao:(I feel sick every time I think about day 1 and day 2 blllaaahhhhhhh)

By day 3, we cancelled our lunches for the rest of the week.

((BBBlllaaaahhhhhhh...NO MORE FOOD!!!!!!))

Ha, we, too, are on deluxe dining, so canceling (hopefully just) one or two ADRs shouldn't be too painful.

I've cancelled some at guest services at the park on our way out. Usually carrying a screaming or sleeping child.
